i have a 3 month old yorkie and she is a cutie, the problem is everytime i see her doing something out of the ordinary i start thinking negative. Like the other day she was running around the house playing with her toys and in like 5 seconds she just starting walking funny. i thought that she had broke a leg or something, but after a little rest she got up and started playing again.

well you do have to be careful with dogs. my dog did that one time but she got better after an hour. if your dog is running around the house playing with her toys then don't worry too much. you only have to worry when your dog isn't acting like her self and when something bad might happen like her falling off a bed when she is sleeping.

I know you are worried about everything she does because I did that with my puppy too. But, we have learned. Your puppy will make a loud squeak or yap or bark if she gets hurt. If she broke her leg she would have definitly yelped or something. And trust me you will know if it is a I am hurt yap because it sounds so loud and painful. It wont be like a regular bark or whine. You will just know. Also if it does start limping or something after it squealed feel along the leg to make sure nothing is sticking out and if it is broken the dog will yap again telling you it hurts. And give the leg some time if you dont think it is anything serious. After about 30 minutes or less the dog should be playing around like normal but if it is still laying down or limping encourage it to use it's leg but if it is persistant take it to the vet, it may be something you need checked out. Just make sure she cant get into anything hazardus and supervise her plenty and she should be fine. I hope this helped bye!

You do have to be careful with little dogs in particular. You would be right to not let her play with large dogs or jump off the couch or something like that. But normal play should be fine for her. Lots of Yorkies have patella problems so if she was limping on one of her back legs, she may have popped it out and then popped it back in.

I was overprotective with my dog when she was a puppy and tiny she's a toy dog and I was scared people were going to hurt her and with other dogs, etc. I was even scared if she would just jump off the couch wrongly and hurt her legs lol. I grew out of it though, i've found out that there tough just like the other dogs. I had been giving her special treatment for breed. And now she's chasing after our other dog and putting him in his place, a pitt bull ^.^

It's not bad to be alert and watch her behavior because you are the one she will go to when something is really wrong. Now if the leg problem had persisted and she didn't want you to touch it either than yea that would be a problem.

Puppies and kitties and even human babies play rough at times and sustain minor little injuries. Sounds like you have a fiesty little dare-devil there! Keep an eye on her so she doesn't hurt herself seriously, and have fun playing WITH her, too!

That does sound like a luxating patella (I'm not a vet; this only comes from seeing other dogs with this problem.) Ask your breeder if her dogs carry this genetic problem - I'm sure they'd love to talk to you about it.
