John 3:16 is a wonderful verse, but carries no more weight than the rest of God's word.

It doesn't trump any other verses but it is a reminder of how much God loves us. There are many other verses, parables and teaching from Jesus just as important. as I said it just sums up the greatness of God's love.

some might, most probably don't see it that way. interpretation of bible verses requires comparing and finding the harmony in all that is written. this verse certainly is supported by the theme of redemption that is threaded throughout the scriptures.

Most professesd Christians do not understand this verse. They say God himself came to earth, even though it says that God gave his son instead.

because most people say that, and use that verse the most. Why, who knows. There are other veses out there just as spritual.
