It is Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. It is when a person HAS to do a certain thing, such as washing their hands a certain number of times or walking a certain way. Watch MONK on USA network if you are in USA. He is a detective with OCD and other disorders. Quite good.

Obsessive compulsive disorder. Obsessive thoughts are relieved by a ritualistic behavior, like hand washing. It's usually considered an anxiety related disorder because the ritualistic compulsions relieve anxiety.

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.

You feel a need to repeat something multiple times or you become anxious. It may be something as simple as having to check you locked all the doors and windows several times before you go to bed. It may be severe enough that it interferes with your ability to function.

OCD frequently shows as continuous handwashing, or teeth brushing.
