USA is the only industrialized democracy without universal health care. We pay twice as much for health care, per capita, as other nations. 45 million have no health coverage. We are being gouged by insurance and pharmaceutical companies. Our infant mortality rate is on a par with some Third World nations.

PARANOID CHRISTIANS. I USED XTIANS BECAUSE I DIDN'T HAVE ENOUGH LETTERS TO TYPE THE QUESTION USING "CHRISTIAN." BY THE WAY...MERRY XMAS TO YOU. CHRISTIANS ARE EASILY OFFENDED BY MOST ANYTHING. THAT IS BECAUSE THEY ARE FANATICS.

Messed up, isn't it? But don't worry. Our good ol' president is working on it. At least he will be when he's done watching Sesame Street.

Because Xtians don't REALLY care about babies, what they care about is using their religion to control other people. Bringing down infant mortality and helping the poor don't make them feel righteous enough, so these activities take the back burner while Xtians stand around at abortion clinics wasting everyone's time.

YOur stats are way, way off. Infant mortality rate on par with some 3rd world nations? Are you mad? Or did you just make that up? Go online to CIA World FactBook and check out the IM rates of some countries like Afghanistan and in Africa and you'll see their rates are 5-6 times higher than ours. Your stat about us paying twice as much in insurance is bogus also. How do you think those countries with socialized health care pay for it? The tax rates in places like France are triple what ours are. They are paying over half ot their income to tax.
Lastly--Christians try everday to correct the helathcare problems we have, by voting and writing their congress and joining Political Action Committees, and also helping those in need through chairity. Next time you try to throw around a bunch of false stats I'll bust you again like I did here. Putz. Gimme my 10 points.

As long as people use pejorative epithets to address those whose beliefs differ from their own, there will be division in our social development. Calling Christians "Xtians," evidences disdain and contempt for another person's approach to the struggle with dealing with a very complex and often bewildering trek from cradle to grave. If we would show some respect for each other, it would go a long way to breaking down the walls that keep us from coming together on vital issues like the one you brought up.

Larry, if you hate America so much then get the hell out and live in one of the countries you admire. You won't do that because you know there is no other country where such a pitiful jerk as you can get by as easy as you do here... I also will guess that you approve of abortion to start with, so for you to say you give a damn about babies is a sick joke.

First of all it is insulting to be refered to as Xtian, the term is Christian. I do not follow X, I follow Christ. Second if a Christian is to say anything against abortion they are immediately jumped on by the "pro-choicers". And even with that knowledge, many of us are still speaking out. However, we cannot do much when our hands are being tied by the ACLU and other civil liberties groups who defend the rights of everyone else to have free speech but when we exercise free speech we are said to be trampling on other peoples rights. I have yet to see the fairness in that.

Non-Christian here.

Trust me - you DON'T want the government handling healthcare. We've seen how badly they've screwed Medicare up - do you honestly want them doing that to pre-Medicare health insurance as well?

We do act. There are so many places for nutrition, health care, homes for the pregnant woman with help - all funded by and/or run by Christian organizations.
