My daughter used to draw on the walls and I was alway scrubbing. Then I got tired of it and bought her some gloves and a little bucket and told her that she could draw all she wants but she must clean it after wards. So she did and then when she had to scrub the wall to get rid of it she stopped. Reverse physicology always works.

Been there, done that.

here's a suggestion: honor the artist in your child by getting him his own felt tip pens. I know that sounds wacky, but hear me out:

Make them a reward for NOT drawing on things. He obviously loves them--and this is completely natural. Kids love to draw, they just need stuff to draw on.

I bought my sons a tiny table to sit at, and told them they could draw on paper AND the table. I told them if they kept the markings ONLY on the table and paper they could keep the pens.

Get sidewalk chalk and go out and draw with him. When you get pens, get the washable kind.

Get the colored soap, too, for the bath. That gives him the opportunity to "paint" the bathtub and himself, no harm done.
And (I don't know what your budget will allow)-- think about getting him an easel--maybe as an incentive to remember not to draw where he's not supposed to.

Just remember he's probably not trying to thwart you. And drawing will help him develop fine motor skills along with giving him a place to express himself.

And don't forget to display his artwork! :)

Try again ... the title box cut you off.

Type just "My son draws on everything with felt pen" in the first box, and the rest of the details in the second.

To get him to stop, though, you'll have to get rid of all the felt pens (since he keeps finding them). If that's not an option, you'll have to lock them up.

If you're asking how to remove the marks, try a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. If it's on fabric, spray with hairspray and rinse while rubbing. Repeat until the stain comes out.

Don't discourage him from drawing, he just happens to like the felt pen the best and their is nothing wrong with that. Give him a little variety, buy him some pencils, chalk pastels, paint brushes ,crayons etc. But,never discourage him.

Tell him that he is to draw on PAPER which you give him ONLY.
Afterwards, if he still draws on everything else.....spank his booty. He'll get the point. He just knows that all you're going to do is take the pen and hide it right now. It's a fun game of hide-seek-and sCRiBBLe right now.
Stop hiding the pens.Tell him what you want, praise him when he follows the rules and discipline him when he breaks them.

Mr.Clean Magic Eraser! Thats one answer. An Easel with a kit of paints, crayons, markers, ect. Let him know, you can take it all away if he uses the wall instead of his cool work station. Hang up every picture he creates at first. Good Luck. And really.....you can hide them better.

get large roll of butcher paper and put it around the house. give him the felt pens in many colors and incourage him to draw on the paper. praise him for his beautiful art. hang them around in his room so he can enjoy his work. maybe he will be an artist, or he may loose interest.

Get rid of felt pens and replace them with crayons, at least these are erasable.
or, don't have any drawing things around.

Stop bringing them into the house if you can't put them away where he can't get to them.
