Ok so here is the short story. I broke up ith this guy fur years ago saying that when I figured myself out I'd call him and try it again. He said we'd stay friends, but that didn't happen. Now it's four years later and I saw him the other day at a chior gig and basically melted from the memories. I dughis number out even though I had thought I lost it ages ago but really it was just burried in a huge box. I want to contact him again. But I'm too chicken to call. So I was thinking about writing him a letter instead and sending it to him that way it's up to him if he wants to talk to me or not. My question is has it been too long to contanct him out of the blue like this? Should I just leave it alone or go for it?

Thanks

To begin with, it may not be his phone number anymore. I dont know many people who have kept the same number for four years. He also may have moved address since then too. Did u speak to him when u saw him? Four years is a while to be truthful. Go with your instinct on this one. If u call and its him that answers, take it as fate and go for it. U got nothing to lose. If u call and its not his number anymore, its not meant to be. The fact u still have his number says u never forgot him which means something...

i think you should go for it or you may regret never doing it. do you know anyone on the choir gig you can ingratiate yourself with? if not, just call (if its the same number) and tell him you saw him a few days ago and just wanted to say hello, catch up on old times. by the end of the conversation you will either know for sure if it will lead to a second meeting or if it just an awkward phone call. either way you can start the conversation off by saying you saw him recently, its not bizarre, and ask him about his choir work. don't write a letter that is too random.

Go for it. The worst that can happen is he doesn't respond. But there are a lot of good things that could come out of it. You never know until you try. You could try telling him you've missed him and been thinking about him and ask if he wants to be friends again. Maybe get together and hang out and catch up on stuff.

It's never too late. Most likely he's already moved on, so don't make a big deal out of it; just call him up and see what he's up to. Nothing to lose, everything to gain.

i think that if u call him out of the blue the first thing he is gonna think is that u r desperate.
