read each Holy Book or scripture for yourself do not blindly accept what someone tells you. seek the truth for yourself. i have studied nearly every 'major' religion and feel that being an educated and logical person I have accepted what i believe to be the truth, and as others say it is by faith alone. i will not try to persuade you to my faith I want you to come to that decision yourself. Good luck on your quest

Setting aside any Bible issues, do they:

believe in obeying the law, even the inconvenient ones, such as speed limits when late for work?

believe in paying taxes, even though there are many ways they could avoid them, as many religions do?

believe in keeping their word, such as to the IRS that they will not promote politics in the church, and they actually mean it?

teach their youth that waiting until marriage is preferable to using protection, and for the most part, the youths actually believe it?

treat their youth with respect, not just "do what you're told!"?

teach youths side by side with the adults, the Bible as a whole, and not just Bible stories, so that when very young reach the age of understanding, they have a good basic knowledge of the scriptures?

have congregations that never get so large that the individual gets lost in the crowd?

teach everyone the same, making it easy to start a new congregation, with a set of elders and its own pastor?

make sure everyone knows everyone, whether in their congregation, or in their city, so that in the event of a disaster, such as Katrina, every member is accounted for and in a safe home outside the disaster area?

believe their church Halls should compliment a neighborhood, and not overwhelm it, and don’t include a lot of expensive decorative features?

Finally, can every member, over the age of 12 answer the following question without guessing some day in May.

WHAT DAY DO YOU OBSERVE THE MEMORIAL ON?

If everyone member, over the age of 12, can answer without pause “At sunset on Niacin 14, which falls on the first full moon after the vernal equinox, the Memorial of the Last Supper” than you will have found the right one. This is the one day Christ did say to continue observing. So, do they follow the observances of Christ or men?

As far as groups of people go, it depends upon the culture in which they were raised. Those raised in a Muslim faith believe it to be the "only" correct one, while those raised in Catholic countries likewise view Catholicism as the correct one. The same for all others. The main differences being that some people are converted by those who set out to influence others, rightly or wrongly. They of course are called "missionaries" and some are successful, some are killed.

I believe that you have to follow your heart on this issue. I personally do not think that there is a "correct" religion, but wonderful aspects to each one. Whether you are Christian, Buddhist, Hindu, Jewish, or any other religion, all religions and beliefs are based on a higher state of being and peace. That being the issue, follow your heart and visit many different religions with an open heart and you will find your answer. Personally I am a Christian, a Baptist, which is a wonderful church for me,because it speaks to my heart.
Best of luck with your quest.

No one can be certain it's just a gimmick to get more parishiners in the seats every sabath. I beleive no one is truly right, we are just all close. Because even though the torah, bible, quran, and all the other books, are Truly Holy, It dosn't mean they are true, The word of God was passed down by word of mouth and gods message must have been lost along the way

There is only one God. The word "religion" simply means to reconnect - to reconnect to God. I am Catholic which means "universal." The Catholic church teaches there are truths in other religions - like rays of light. However, those rays can sometimes be distorted.

Rather than say which religion is right, perhaps one might think about since all people who practice a religion are in a sense seeking to reconnect with God, the thing to avoid is to be bogged down or misled by what is NOT of God. In fact, why would I want to be misled by human beings. I am sure people of other religions who have been brought up with those beliefs hold to them and find even some wisdom in them. But Siddhartha Gautama, Lao Tzu, Mohammed, the authors of Vedic literature - many of these were holy men who received some wisdom and encouraged others to lead upright lives. In this there is good, but there is a greater Truth.

God reveals himself to us - the term revelation reflects this. To the Jewish people for years He chose and led and His greatest revelations of Himself were to them. The Jewish people were told of the coming Messiah. Then God sent the Messiah into the world. He gave us His Son, our Lord Jesus Christ.

How can one be certain? God puts in one's heart. The Bible tells us no one will have to tell one another how to know God for all shall know Him. I believe I do not need to tell you or anyone how to know God. We know love, we know truth, it is in our hearts. I would encourage anyone to read the scriptures - read the Bible - speak with a Catholic priest about the church.

I believe that organised religion has failed its members believers.also have failed the social fabric of this country! what with all the social, racial, and philosophic issues someone needs to come out and raise awareness! you are better off following your conscience and heart I think?at least when you stand for judgement you will be the only one answering for your transgressions not a representative of some flashy church affiliation!

Well it's not really a question of the "right" one as every religion believes in a God(Hindus do believe in more than one mind you)and they all pretty much preach the same things. Don't sin, be good, love yourself and the world...etc. etc. It's what you believe in not what others believe.

all religions are the right ones. the only basic difference in one religion and another are the NAMES they refer to GOD as along with the Rituals and Ceremonies they use to Honor, Worship, Praise, Adore, Pray to and Petition, Thank, Etc. GOD is to big to be in only one place. there are many paths and ways to reach one's destination as one can walk, ride a bike, a motorcycle, take a train, a bus, a plane, etc. in order to reach their destination. reaching their destination is the important thing -- not how one gets there

Because only Mumbo Jumbo garentees to save you and the only requirement is for you to rub blue mud in your belly button so you can go to heaven and sit on his right hand side.

There will be much gnashing of teeth, when the day of judgment comes, from the unbelievers who mistakenly believe that they, and not the blue bellied believers will rise to sit at God's side. Yes, the hell of unbelievers will be filled with waling infidels on that great day. All hail Robert A. Heinlein, the great prophet, who even today sits on the right side of God, and awaits the judgment day.
