Read my last question please
the main response was: that I just "pulled" these verses out of the bible
Dont you agree that the divinity of Jesus is made by just
"pulling verses" out of the bible
"Before Abraham was, I am"
"No one gets to The Father, but through me"
If Jesus is so power ful why did he cry to his father, pray to his father and say that he himself could do nothing.... it was in the hands of his Father?
Im not bashing the Christian religion. MY WHOLE family is christian.
My question? WHY do you all get so mad when I ask questions about your faith. Pull something out of the bible to defend yourselves. Why cant people discuss religion in a religious forum without throwing insults?

Wanna know: Beautifully said. I appreciate that. :) thankyou for your FAITH, and for your knowledge of what you believe in/ christians should know: people will try to make your religion sound false. So be ready not with insults- but with KNOWLEDGE. (if you care to say anything at all to those who do not believe you and who attack your faith)

Oh dear Terry S... I hope you got all that hatred out of your system. How American of you. To hate any one who is differant. I am asking questions to the christians regarding their faith. How horrible of me.
And just so you know dear friend, Muslims have to donate a portion of their wealth every year to charity. They have one of the largest charities in the world called Islamic relief (www.irw.org) Hope all of your hatred is working for you.
And I will kiss my christian mother goodnight, and I will continue questioning the Bible if I so please, and I will say that Muslims are human beings and I will fall asleep at least with no hatred for my fellow man.

because they had no idea those verses were in there and it took them by surprise and they dont like surprises (who would? not i!)

but i agree. if you really want to quote your verses to preach to others, you have to be ready to respond to EVERYTHING in your book. you cant pick and choose God's word. you either believe it or you dont. end of story.

Because we are all human. When you truly believe in something you have a tendency to defend it when someone says something you don't agree with. Please don't let this stop you from asking questions or wanting to learn more about religion. If someone offends you forgive them. Don't hold it in your heart for in time it will make you bitter. I am sorry if anyone has insulted you. The only dumb question is one that is not asked. Good luck to you on your search for the truth and never let anyone turn you away. Read your bible and ask God for guidance. He will show you the light and the way.

Everyone gets mad on this forum. Once I asked if anyone would allow a Wiccan or Witch to babysit their children. I asked because I was once fired from a babysitting position because of my Wiccan faith. And some people called me a bigot and got all up in a hissy. You're dealing with a lot of uptight Americans on this sight, and that's the way it is.

People follow religions because they are AFRAID of everything. If you ask ANY questions, you make them QUESTION their BELIEFS, and that makes them MORE AFRAID.

I had an aunt that was very versed on the bible. If you asked her any thing about the bible, she became furious! She said that you just listen, believe, and do what your priest and the bible tell you to do.
I told her sheep do this, is that why your priest calls you a flock?

Of course she became more angry, and visibly afraid. As I said, religious people are scared to death of everything. So they hide behind their religion and beliefs.

I think that there are far too many people who do pull things out of the Bible to prove their points. Which is evern worse when you consider that if you do take bits out, various parts contradict other parts.

But no religious people don't like to admit that their religions are contradictory, make no sense and often say the same thing that other religions say.

You have given a very good arguement against the trinity. Jesus is divine, but he is God's Son and not God. All the power he has comes from God, originates with God. Without God there would be no power or existence. Jesus existed in heaven in his pre-human spirit form. He was with God when this world was created, and was in effect God's master worker...but he has never been God. Divine yes, God, no.

Genesis 1:26: "And God went on to say: “Let us make man in our image, according to our likeness, and let them have in subjection the fish of the sea and the flying creatures of the heavens and the domestic animals and all the earth and every moving animal that is moving upon the earth."

Proverbs 8: 22-36: "“Jehovah himself produced me as the beginning of his way, the earliest of his achievements of long ago. 23 From time indefinite I was installed, from the start, from times earlier than the earth. 24 When there were no watery deeps I was brought forth as with labor pains, when there were no springs heavily charged with water. 25 Before the mountains themselves had been settled down, ahead of the hills, I was brought forth as with labor pains, 26 when as yet he had not made the earth and the open spaces and the first part of the dust masses of the productive land. 27 When he prepared the heavens I was there; when he decreed a circle upon the face of the watery deep, 28 when he made firm the cloud masses above, when he caused the fountains of the watery deep to be strong, 29 when he set for the sea his decree that the waters themselves should not pass beyond his order, when he decreed the foundations of the earth, 30 then I came to be beside him as a master worker, and I came to be the one he was specially fond of day by day, I being glad before him all the time, 31 being glad at the productive land of his earth, and the things I was fond of were with the sons of men.

32 “And now, O sons, listen to me; yes, happy are the ones that keep my very ways. 33 Listen to discipline and become wise, and do not show any neglect. 34 Happy is the man that is listening to me by keeping awake at my doors day by day, by watching at the posts of my entrances. 35 For the one finding me will certainly find life, and gets goodwill from Jehovah. 36 But the one missing me is doing violence to his soul; all those intensely hating me are the ones that do love death.”

The bible is not the word from GOD, just words from other men about GOD. THey have been changed so much over time. When you pull things out of the bible you are just arguing other peoples opinions or perceptions, not that of GOD words. Why can't people seem to understand that?

Religion is such a personal issue that many people get offended when you ask questions that they don't have an answer for.It takes a strong person to admit there are flaws and still believe.

Stop pulling things out of the bible, then they obviously don't make sense, just read the entire thing and then ask a better question.
