when does it cease to be ok to end the life of this "mass of tissue". In the third trimester? If the big toe is visible (I know babies are usually born headfirst, so d'nt bother correcting me) ? If the whole body is delivered except for the head can we kill it (partial-birth abortion)? If that's ok, how about maybe the first month after birth; after all, its still dependent on the mother.

I don't care if the baby is a person or not even in advanced stages. If something like a parasite was growing inside me, sucking my strength, my blood, my food, and will almost kill me when it comes out, I have every right to remove it from my body.

Did you know that on Yahoo Answers, over 90 people have already posted rhetoric about partial birth abortions and over NINE THOUSAND NINE HUNDRED people have posted rhetoric about abortion? If you want some info and opinions on this topic, there are more than anyone should ever have to read or need already in the Yahoo Answers knowledge base. You know... they say that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.

I'm only somewhat comfortable with abortion during the 1st trimester. I've never been in that situation so I can't speak for anyone. I don't know what's going through the head of a woman that's waiting until a much later date. I would rather see a woman get a late abortion than commit suicide though.

Everyone has personal beliefs that must be respected.

Here is something a little less controversial for you to think about. If life starts at conception, why do we measure age from birth? My daughter was 3 weeks early, a little friend of hers was almost 2 weeks late. They had the same due day, they have different birthdays and there fore will start school a year apart.

In my opinion, no abortion should be performed past the 1st trimester. However, I would not make that choice for someone else.

Leviticus 20:9 Any child that curses his mother or his father shall be put to death.

So, if you think that it is ok to kill a 3 month old child, God agrees with you, if the child curses at you. So just make sure that you justify crying with cursing.

You man are sick! No abortion is not OK. Besides you are a man, what do you care? Do you call yourself a "mass of tissue"?
By the 3rd trimester that baby is just that, a baby.
How can a whole body be delivered except for the head?
You really don't make sense.

I'm pro-choice, but I do feel that partial-birth abortions should be illegal. It's stupid to wait so long to abort. Generally after the first two trimesters, the fetus gains a sense of consciousness, and is then a baby--but until then, it is a mass of cells.

Abortion is legal up to the moment of delivery. If you are willing to look, you will find that as early as five weeks, the baby has a heartbeat. It is plainly apparent that there is a little human being inside the womb very early on, and I think if women were shown images of the babies that they would find it very difficult to say, "end its life." Bombing the clinics and killing doctors is equally wrong. Abortion stops a beating heart. Our laws are so messed up.

How about at the point of viability, i.e. the time at which it could be kept alive if it were to be born prematurely? This would pretty much preclude third-trimester abortions, which nobody really wants to do anyway.

Consciousness develops in the 3rd trimester... this is the beginning of life. Until then the fetus is a mass of organized organic material with nothing but reflexive brain activity. Senses and awareness are the last things to develop, then and only then can we classify something as an individual life.

Presently, the only time I would consider an abortion o.k., is if the situation has come to the choice for the doctor of the life of the innocent mother vs. the life of the innocent child.
(Yes, that is separate from the cases of rape and incest).
