Thank you! I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who dislikes the thoughts of those people.

It would seem, perhaps, that those "are you ready" people, are trying to get others to just even think about life after this life. I am sorry you came across someone that seemed almost happy with the thought of others going to hell. That is really sad, if that happened. Most people I know, that believe in heaven and hell, and actually really concerned about it, and that those that aren't going there are not. I have come across people that think hell will be some big party, with all their friends there. That is probably exactly what Satan would want them to think, since he has to go there anyway, and wants to take as many with him as he can. Bursting with glee? Ouch, that sounds like some messed up person. Ego? and what lies? I do look to my own soul, and I agree, all should, and search for the truth hidden there.

Sometimes christians get frustrated, but none of us want anyone to burn in hell. We may sound like we think non-believers deserve to burn, but we don't want that. Another thing is, while I do believe the Bible to be 100% God's word, I do not believe it says people will burn or be tormented throughout all time. The punishment for sin is death. Death is being dead. The punishment is eternal in the way that it is irreversible. If a person has not received ETERNAL life, then at judgment day, when all are resurrected, the unbelievers will metaphorically be thrown into the lake of fire, which is the 2nd death the Bible speaks of. The Bible uses the metaphor of a lake of fire because to make the punishment understandable. We understand that when something is thrown into a fire, it buns up, the paper or log is consumed. So, as the punishment for sin, if our sin was not paid for by Christ's death, is our own 2nd death. And it is eternal. That's where we get the phrase"eternal punishment." But I don't believe for a second that God would make anyone pay with eternal suffering forever and ever and ever, throughout all eternity. The Bible says death, not eternal torment and burning. Sorry for going on so long. But please don't judge all christians by what some say.

If you encounter someone who tells you that you are definitely going to Hell and they are happy about it, they aren't a real Christian...it's just that simple. Real born-again believers want to see others accept Christ. We work hard and pray hard that hardened hearted, stubborn, rudiculing, and hateful people get saved from hell.
I should also add that people don't "win" Heaven; or "work their way to Heaven." Everyone, even the scornful atheist has access to Christ, thus the Father, thus Heaven. Our access to Heaven is gift from God, the greatest. There is nothing you can do to earn it...but you must accept it. Most people deny that access and even ridicule it....and yet God still loves them and provides a Way.
Moreover, the pride that you see in some people is not of God. God hates the pride in people. I know that prideful people anger you. They anger me as well. They have nothing to do with the eternal gift available to you right now....

I am someone who is ready and I agree with you that anyone who takes satisfaction in the fact people will be going to hell are some of the most horrible people out there. They should instead be talking to people trying to get them to understand so we can all get a chance to go to heaven. Not one of us is any better than anyone else. Sin is sin in the eyes of God and everyone has sinned. People need to remember that and remember that we all deserve hell and it's not but for God's forgiveness we have the chance to be saved. I hope those people out there that think that way see your question and realize they are being horrible examples for the rest of the world. It should kill them to think anyone should burn, that Jesus' blood was wasted on people who never got a chance to believe. He wants everyone to be saved and everyone to go to heaven. That's why he did what he did. Next time you hear someone that sounds happy about others going to hell, even if it's a perfect stranger, please stop them and ask them what kind of christian they are to take pride in the fact they are going to heaven and others aren't. It really makes me sick.

Well, the Rapture was a VERY recent concept, but that aside, the thought of ANYONE going to hell is awful! No true Christian should want that. God desires to see all men saved. And a Christian should want what God wants.
In my church (RC) you are not allowed to say anybody is in Hell. Adolf Hitler might have had true remorse at the last second before that bullet hit.

I can't speak for others, but I am one who believes that the Lord will come some day. I don't know when, but I really hope he waits awhile longer. You see, it is exactly opposite of what you are saying. I am so saddened by the thought of others going through what is to come. I think one of the reasons you see so many here on YA trying to tell people about Jesus is because they don't want anyone to go through tribulation or spend eternity isolated from God. If you saw someone drowning, wouldn't you try and save them? That's how Christians view salvation. I would want all to be saved. Of course, I know that won't happen. But it certainly does not give me glee. However, because I am human, there is a part of me that can't wait to go be with the Lord. But I'm content to wait on Him and His perfect timing.

Well it's not un-godly to only pick the ones that serve him and believe in him. ANd yes the raptue is real and he loves all not just the christians but if you don't believe in him bye hte time you die you're gonna go to hell. God loves every1 and that's why he wants his believers to spread the word so the others won't burn in hell.
*the people who are jubilant about others burning in hell just might not be christians :L u can claim u are one but God knows.

First of all; the world doesn't end with the rapture, any of them. So no, I reserve my glee on finally being rid of my own sin, you all are on your own, you can make your own choice, I've made mine.
Secondly, is it really surprising to you that those that love God look forward to being with Him? And those that don't kick at every little issue?
Why do you judge us so harshly?
Where's your compassion?
Because you don't believe us, right? So we must be wrong about it altogether, and are going through life without a clue! You should feel sorry for us for what we believe if you are truly compassionate, because we are obviously duped.
What's wrong with loving us, even though we are 'sick.'

Those who miss the rapture are not necessarily be going to Hell.
In Revelation it tells of millions who were martyred in the Tribulation because they would not deny God.
We need to be filled with glee at the thought of not only us, but our family and friends (all who are believing God) being taken up in the rapture (to avoid the Tribulation and to be with God).
If is a sorrow to think of those who do not choose Jesus.

Rapture is a word not found in any standard, traditional Bible text. It was coined by Margaret MacDonald, a 15 year old Scottish girl in 1830. It's primarily a part of "new age" modern religion, such as Apostolics and Pentacostals.
