I have always found that a good Munich Dunkel (Dark Lager) was perfect with Pizza. I would bet that it would go equally well any pasta and red sauce combination. Beers that tend to have a higher hop bitterness may not combine well with the acidity of tomato sauce. An easy brand to find is either St. Pauli Girl Dark or Becks Dark - there are certainly better Munich Dunkel beers out there but none as ubiquitous.

ravioli is a bit filling to me and beer is too, so when we have pasta i prefer a nice white wine (with ravioli) unless its pasta with meat sauce and then we have red wine. Enjoy your meal, we are having ravioli today too.

Cold and dark, anything else should not be allowed to be called beer. Light beer is a crime against nature and should only be given to children .........as punishment.
