Please take a guess at what you think your life would be like, if your "salvation" were to happen sometime in your future, instead of having happened already.

Think about you as you are now - but without your faith in an organized religion.

WOULD YOU BE LIVING A MORAL LIFE?

WOULD YOU BE A BAD PERSON?

For those unclear on the definition of the term: "Organized religion" refers to an organization of people supporting the exercise of some religion with a prescribed set of beliefs, e.g., Catholicism, Baptist, Islam, Judaism, etc.

Wicca's not exactly what I'd call "organized," but I suppose if I wasn't Wiccan, I wouldn't have had all these faux-witches in junior high school bothering me all the time to teach them spells. And yes, I'd still be a good person living a moral life. If you only do good things because you're afraid of cosmic repercussions, it doesn't really count, as far as I'm concerned.

Actually no I would not be living a moral life and I would be a bad person. My faith stops me from doing things that I see others doing but I would like to do. I am so happy that i have faith and that I have my religion.

First of all I would have to say my faith is not in religion - organized or otherwise, my faith is in the God of the universe, His son who sacrifeced His life for my salvtion and His spirit that is my guide...that said, oddly enough this is a question I have been thinking about recently for a variety of reasons but mainly that people seem to believe that Christian's should be perfect and all who aren't are hypocrites (which essentially puts every Christian into the hypocrite category since nobody is perfect!)! I finally figured out thru study and meditation on the scriptures that it is not so much about how I would act or behave that would be different without Christ. It is my intent, motivation and my hearts attitude that would be different. As a follower of Christ I set my purpose to glorify Him and show my gratefulness for His sacrifice with my life. When I am kind to a stranger it is with the intent that they see His heart in me, give to the poor, help a family in need, sing out in praise... It is not for my glory or personal gain it is all for His glory and a display of my love for Him! So, without my love for Him and the sacrifice He made in love for me I would be a self centered egomaniac...whether my actual behavior was different or not.

Since "morales" and our knowledge of them come from GOD how could we have any without HIM?
We are all born "bad" people, some of us get saved and are washed clean by the Blood of the Lamb.
Without my relationship with my Savior my life would be so empty and hopeless. I remember only too well what it was like and I do not EVER want to go back there.
What would Your life be like if You placed Your hope in the Hands of The only One who can give you any hope for now and eternity?
It has Nothing to do with "organized" religion and Everything to do with learning to trust THE ONLY one who can give me any hope, NOW and for ETERNITY.

i would die without God. i can't imagine my world, my life w/o him.

but RELIGION is a manmade institution. so insteasd of adhering to the morals of my religion, i would simply be adhering to the ethics of law and government.

absence of religion and absence of God are two very different things.
