I cant get any sound. What do I need to do?..I tried going to sounds, and adjusting to no prevail..

if you are using it as a monitor you will remember that your original monitor did not have speakers if your sound card has an audio out that looks like a speaker jack then go to radioshack and buy a line in cable

If you simply connected an s-video cable from your PC video card to the s-video input on your HDTV, you won't get any sound as it only transmits video. You need to feed the sound output from the PC to a set of speakers or a home theater system.

If you can somehow use composite outputs on the other hand (red/yellow/white plugs), both video and sound should come across.

s-video = separate video (no sound)
u need to connect the "Composite sound only" (the red and white one{left and right sound}) to the back of the tv or speakers
