I had mines for a year, and I am really pleased with my teeth now. But just a word of warning the first few days hurt like crazy, i tried eating crisps it took me like 30 minutes just to be able to eat a few. But don't be scared because I really love my teeth way better than before when I didn't get them done.

I had mine from age 15 to 17. I'm now 20 and don't regret it for a second. I actually never had crooked teeth, just a bad overbite. My orthodontist wanted to break my jaw and reset it since my teeth were straight and it was just my jaw that was out of wack. As you can imagine that option didn't appeal to me so much!!

I got the regular old metal braces. I remember after tightening the brackets or changing bands that Advil was invaluable! After the regular brackets I had "chain" bands for a while and then elastic bands from my back lower brackets to my front top brackets to move my jaw forward.

I would say although I really stressed about it at the time it really was work it. The other thing is make sure you take good care of your teeth while you have the braces. A friend of mine didn't and she had terrible cavities afterwards.

Good Luck! I hope everything goes well for you!! :)

I had braces for 3 years about 15 years ago. I am happy with my teeth. I didn't wear the retainers so the bottom teeth got a little crooked again, but it actually makes the straightness of the rest look natural and every dentist I've seen since makes a remark about my natural smile.

I had braces on for about 2 years. I actually just got them off a month ago and I'm 22. I am so happy mine are off. I feel really confident about my smile now. I was really nervous at first about getting them on because believe it or not they had to pull 3 teeth out of my mouth and they decided they wanted to pull them out from near the front. I had two gaps near the top front and 1 gap on the very front bottom. I was so embarrassed to come outside for weeks. I was embarrassed to smile and talk because people would always look at my mouth whenever I talked. Now that everything is over I am extremely happy with my results (In comparison to the way I started). I'm not trying to scare you but your gonna be a bit nervous at first but think about the ending results.

Your teeth are going to look FABULOUS!!!!

Good Luck.

I currently have braces and I'm going to get them off in late spring. Before I had them my teeth were waaay messed up, but my orthodontist is amazing haha. I was supposed to have them on for 2 years (which would be next october) But I guess my teeth moved really quick, so now I can get them off in the spring.

I had mine for a year and a half. My teeth were pretty straight until I lost my retainer and couldn't find it for two days. Word of warning: get it replaced right away if you lose it. It's worth the money.

you areally need to be careful with the doctor some of them -like mine --ask you to waer it for 7-8- years...thats harmful....i have developed wounds on my mounth which will be with me life long and stains on my teeth.
But yeah teh results are OK as teh buck teeth is gone but teh teeth are weak and keep moving here and there...due to teh tesnion created by teh braces. Best is do with what god gave u
