Some people think that all popular music is wrong. They've been conditioned to believe that in the same way that some children are conditioned to be racist. You won't win this crowd with something so provocative. They're logic is already twisted & you have to first win them over with something pleasant. You have to prove to them that the medium of communication (in this case rap music) is neutral. This part might be a bigger hurdle than the actual message of the rap.

If they are offended by the actual message, you can find some evocative passage in one of the Old Testament prophets and show them how it compares it to the words of your rap.

Personally, I wouldn't be offended by those lyrics. I am already aware that such evils exist, and it saddens me. I wouldn't want to listen to that song over and over again though, because it would make me very depressed.

I'm glad you can recognize truth in the real world. We all need to keep a balance of thinking about postive things as well as identifying real problems with integrity.

Mostly, people get offended when their moral fundaments get questioned or shaked by different ones.
Especially the religious ones are quite sensitive, because those morals are deprived of logic and tought, they are just learned by heart, like a poem that kids learn at school to get an A+.
They don`t analyse it, they didn`t aquire it through a process of thinking, it is static and dogmatic. Thus, people get offended by such lyrics, because they make them think. And religious people simply do not like to think on their own.
This is the truth of the religious hypocrisy and mind degradation.

Not every christian is like that...I've met some very respectable christians. One happens to be my best friend. I know just about everything about him. Try not to be so narrow minded. Also you have to remember that christians are people just like you and me and if you TRY to offend them, there's a possibility they will get offended.

Some christians are like that...some christians need to also realize that they are human just like everyone else and shouldn't expect perfection out of anyone including themselves.

Its okay dude...you can chill. Nobody's attacking you

Because you're making a generalization. Just like whites do about blacks..... and that's not fair. Those lyrics probably ARE true but that doesn't man EVERY christian is that way. Just like saying all Blacks are gangbangers and thiefs. Its a generalization that no one likes.

Here's the thing...It is only true to you. All people have different opinions. Do you know what some of those words mean? You might want to look them up. Maybe you'd understand more.

You have said that Rap lyrics are true.

True for whom? True for harmony-loving people? True for English teachers whose students slaughter the English language? True for teen-agers who disrespect their parents? True for law enforcement officers who have to deal with rappers who encourage dumb teenagers to commit crimes? True for peace-loving folks who are forced to listen to loud rapper music
and boom boxes driving past their homes?

Anyone who believes that rappers tell the truth, well, we worry about those people who believe the rappers.

Have you forgotten about the news reports on a regular and continuous basis of ......... Rappers being arrested for drug possession and illegal firearms. - Why do you attack Christians, any christians, when your own heroes are so dispicable.

By, the way, don't you realize that "some" of these rappers laugh at those who are dumb enough to listen to them. (Snoop Dog, and someone like Ice T )

They laugh all the way to the bank as they deposit your money. Sorry about that, as they deposit your parents' money.

Get a job, earn your own living, and then we will see how much of your own money you spend on "Rap" music.

just because it's true doesn't mean you won't get offended. Sometimes the truth hurts. And not all christians are like that.
