What I mean is: Has anyone developed an itchy rash, or blisters on their ears, nose, or cheeks when in cold windy weather? Not like a simple wind burn, I mean a real allergic type reaction. How do you treat it, or what do you do to prepare for such situations?

Yes! That is a true allergy. A girl in my school has it, it is called Urticaria.

Oh dear, that doesn't sound very comfortable!

I do have trouble with my nose running and my ears hurting when I get too cold. The best thing I can think of would be to use a ski mask and wrap a scarf around your neck and head.

Good luck!

I would suggest you see your doctor, or get a referral for an allergist, first and have allergy testing done and get an accurate diagnosis...but it sounds very much like cold induced uticaria since you notice symptoms with cold temps.

Cold induced uticaria or hives-

You can treat it with antihistamines like claritin (one example of otc antihistamine) or try a histamine restricted/low-histamine diet to see if there is any improvement:

I have heard of people breaking out in hives to the cold. The only treatment I know about is not getting cold.

Yes, it's called cold Urticaria. Usually, benadryl will help. Talk to your doctor to work on a prevention/treatment plan.
