I hate to disagree with Todd but my brother and I both have Savage rifles in 25.06 and neither of us have had a problem. They are very accurate and we've never had any problems with extraction. I worked at a gun shop for years and never heard of one either. We have the 110GX models. There is a model 10 that has a black stock. It would depend on the condition of the gun and which scope it is as to it's value. The best way to find out is take it to your local shop. They can tell you what it's worth.

Its hard to say without having the model #, But if its a model 110 it isn't worth much.
The savage model 110 is known as one of the worst guns ever produced, they had endless bolt problems and some shell retraction problems.
you need to get the model #.
