Orbitz.com
You can save a lot of money, if you change the dates around. You could also consider coming in to California via SNA, ONT, LAX or Long Beach. By trying all the different airports, you can see which one will save you the most $$.
Also, if you in or out on a Tuesday or Thursday, it seems to be cheaper for some reason.
Another big thing is that it usually saves a lot of money to book a flight at least 22 days in adv ance. This is not always the case, but it helps.

My favorite place to buy airline tickets is www.priceline.com. I have gotten such good deals there. With their "name your price" feature you can name the price you want, as long as you are willing to travel at anytime on the dates you pick.
You can check what the current prices are for your trip at www.kayak.com.
If you are looking for a rental car I'd use priceline too. Name your price and you'll save a bundle. I just went to Los Angeles a couple weeks ago and I paid $140 including tax for a Hertz rental car for an 8 day trip!! What a bargain that was!

US Airways has a Hub in Charlotte with nonstop flights to LAX, I would check there website for any specials. Otherwise I would use Sidestep.com. It's a travel search engine that compares all the travel websites for the best price.
Good luck!

I agree with Pyroreview but would start with Sidestep.
1. Sidestep searches lots of different airlines.
2. Also check individual airlines. I got the best deal earlier this year at Continental
3. Also check your cities at Farecaster to see when the tickets will be high or lower.
Good Luck

Dont fly out or back on weekends. If you're going for a weekend, fly out on a Thursday and back on a Monday if possible.
