Most grocery store dog food and dog treats are made with so many fillers it is like handing over a Big Mac to your dog (of course your dog would love that) but in the long run its not healthy. The best thing is to ask your local vet what he/she would suggest for your type of dog, the weight and age. I feed my dog nutro and my kitties too and they never throw up or get diarrhea and are pretty healthy. My oldest kitty is 19 and still plays and runs around like she is a kitten. Good Luck with your critters.

actually some treats are WORSE than multiple candy bars... while others are healthy... its all a matter of choice
snausages and beggin strips are crap...they actually contain harmful ingredients
always avoid ingredients such as BHT, BHA, and by-products... the first 2 are preservatives and are linked in causing several health problems... they are also in lower quality dog foods... by-products are beaks feet and feathers but the main problem with them is they are preserved with Ethoxyquin a chemical pesticide linked to further health problems...-also in lower quality foods
also the color dyes and artificial flavors have been linked to problems including behavoral changes... - again also in lower quality foods like Kibbles n Bits
IF you buy good quality treats (not sold in grocery or wal mart) then you will find some of the treats are actually beneficial for helping dogs who have certain problems (like the charcoal ones for bad breath) - some people make their own treats -
treats are not the problem.. its in ingredients in cheap treats that is

They're not bad - just don't feed too many because you don't want your dog putting on weight. It's nice to give your dog treats as a reward for doing something rather than for no reason - makes them a bit more special.

Those type of treats are doggie junk food.
Yes they are like candy bars or chips for humans.
Alright for small amounts as a treat but not all the time.

Treats should be occasional. You can buy training treats that have less fat and filler at any pet supply store. The ones you mention are junk, designed for taste alone not nutrition.

yeah, too much crude fat in treats is bad for your doggies tummy, so the reccomended amount to give your dog is on the package but and extra one at the end of the day wont hurt.

they're not bad if you give your dog once in a while, but not at every second, or any time is does something good. I prefer to pet my dog when she does something well.
