Norovirus can be transmitted through surface contact, or ingestion in contaminated food. It can SORT OF become airborne. Vomit spew and diarrhea splatter can actually aerosolize virus particles and cause them to linger in the air in a bathroom (or wherever the sick person made a mess).

but sharing air with a person with noro isn't going to make you sick per se.

Noro virus, also known as Norwalk virus, can be transmitted through surface contact, but it can also be transmitted as a food borne illness, such as if someone went to the bathroom and didn't wash their hands before touching your food, or if your food or water supply was contaminated with fecal matter from an infected person. It's a really nasty infection.
