I believe it is the sound partly that is still rude. It would still be rude in my opinion because if you are in church imagine everyone just letting loose. Even without the smell people would be falling out the pews in laughter. Or farting during a meeting and trying to keep a straight face because it was not rude. I couldn't do it.. LOL

If there is sound, its still considered rude. If it doesn't stink and its a silent one, then it isn't rude. But if right after you farted in this way and yell out, Yo ppl I just farted a silent, non-stink one!, then its considered not only rude, but lunacy.

Apparently so. Mine don't stink, but my girlfriend still thinks it's rude.

everyone must pass gasses, but if the passing gas doesnt make sound and u pass it in a different area which is nobody is there, then is not counted as rude.

I still think it would be rude especially if it was loud and obnoxious sounding as belching was...... it isn't something that should be done and doesn't matter if it stinks or not.....

Yes, it is rude...people don't want to hear your body ejecting waste products (gas). Besides, how do you know it's going to be odorless until you've done it?

probably....think about it this way. when you burp (which can stink too) in front of a lot of people....is that not rude? so farting is like the same.....
