I give to a number of Charities, especially for Children.
The Christian Children's Fund is the best for helping children.
Eighty percent of the Monies goes directly to the children...The twenty percent is for administration fees, language translation fees, mail and distribution.
If you help one child....You will be blessed 1000 times over.

How about via Foster Parents (you can make just a donation and specify the country) or World Vision, same concept.
Not 100% sure but you might be able to use it as write-off on your income tax too.
