We was all given the option to re apply for new jobs in the company as our admin jobs were been rolled into one so one unlucky person would get that. Turns out it's me. The Dirctor married the finance manager and she has got her 22 year old sister with no experience, who has been there for 18 months for a gap year, She got one of the jobs. A older woman who has been there for 6 months got the other. I have ended up with the admin job. I'm 31 and have been there for 4 years. They have stabbed me in the back. Any ideas how i can get them back? The truth is you don't have a friend at work. Not where money is involved. Also the admin manager is really shallow, and wants to keep me near her because i'm the only one who listens to her crappy conversation and can do the job better than most. She's so shallow that if I made an enemy of her she would make my life hell. Please help? I wish I could teach them that they can't play with peoples lives for their own selfish reasons.

First, update your resume...at home, not on your work PC.

Second, start looking really hard for a new job. When you land an interview, and they ask why you are leaving your old company just smile and say, "After four years, I needed to be at a company where I can learn new things and take on additional responsibilities."

Third, remove any and all personal documents from you work PC. Save everything to a disk and take it home.

Fourth, save as much money as you can, as fast as you can. If you have any debt, start paying it off. Give up the daily Starbucks or any other money drains. Put that extra $5-$10 a day toward your bills.

Fifth, do your job the very best you can. Keep your mouth shut and your nose clean. Do not give them a reason to fire you. I know your upset, but they will get theirs.

Sixth, start making the coffee at work. I know it sounds menial, but trust me. Make it really strong for about 2-3 weeks. Then buy decaf, (you can even keep an old caffeinated coffee can and pour the decaf in there) and switch everyone to decaf. But don't tell them.

You can drink caffeinated tea or (yikes) instant coffee for a few weeks. This is an awesome experiment. I did this once to a boss I hated, and he had such bad headaches he had to go home!

Seventh, make chocolate mint brownies/cookies and put milk of magnesia in the mix. Take them to work to "share". It works.

You can also sign your bosses/evil co-workers up for those erectile dysfunction info packs the pharmaceuticals offer. Also try, herpes medicine info, hair club for men, plastic surgery financing info. However, I would advise you to do these things from an internet cafe where it cannot be traced. You can never be too careful.

Best of luck.

Find another job-that's the best revenge, put your 2 weeks notice in, be professional. You never know when you'll run into one of these people in the future. I had a similar situation about 7 years ago. I found another job, gave my 2 weeks notice and exited. Lo and behold, the person who screwed me over is now working at the company I'm at - she sits about 20 ft away. This is a large operation with several large office buildings, so what are the chances? Anyway, I'm sure she won't last but a couple of years before she stirs things up, makes a few good people leave and then exits herself- but at least she can't say anything negative about me when she gets comfortable with her co-workers.

If you must get revenge, make sure they don't know it's you. Bumper stickers are fun, pretty harmless. If they're die hard Christians a nice "Wiccan" sticker would be good. If they're straight - a "Gay Pride" sticker would be nice. Subscriptions to questionable magazines delivered to work are fun too.

Are you sure they were not just better suited for the job? Probably not, but that's what you will be told if you ask someone about it.
There's an old saying "before you embark on a journey of revenge - dig two graves"
What this means is that you may very well make things worse for yourself if you take any actions against your workmates..
Just stick with it, things will work out for you.

Why would you waste your time trying to get back at these people? It's nothing but negative energy and will come back to YOU! Instead of concentrating on them, concentrate on finding something else that will make you happy and find a new job. This is like beating a dead horse!

What's happened to you has happened to a zillion other people. It doesn't make it right, but it's the way life works sometimes. Get past it and move on.

Do you think that maybe you didn't get the job because of your bad attitude and all of the time you waste talking trash about those around you.
maybe if you came to work with a good attitude and focused on your job over the past 4 years you would have gotten the job promotion you wanted. personally if you were my employee you would'nt have lasted 6 months let alone 4 years.
you have no one to blame but yourself for the hostile work place you have created.

If you, are so unhappy what keeps you?.My advise is start looking for another job!.I,know favoretism is an ugly thing, but you want to know something? it goes on everyday, everywhere.Get used to it.I don`t know what you do for a living, but I,would start looking for a new job,but bear in mind that no matter where you go,there will be something you won`t like. That`s life.Allow me to tell you something I,work for the Government and talk about favoretism!talk about unfairness. What goes on everyday is complete bull crap, but I stick around. Why? because sooner or later you have to develop roots somewhere.Good luck to you my friend, and remember, you don`t have ball, and chain to your ankles.

I agree, you need to be professional about this. That would be the best revenge. Silently start looking for a new job. And by the time you head out of this place, hold your head up high and tell them that you won't miss this place one bit.

they will get theirs.
start looking for another job because this one probably won't last too much longer.
business cannot run with LIKING people. people have to do their jobs to make a business work. if you are the only one doing a JOB you will be the business. if you get another job they will fail in no time flat.

The best revenge is to find another job. If it will be hard to replace you, they will certainly not want to see you go. And then, you have the ball in your court.
Be professional.

If you don't like it quit. Perhaps there is more to the story You remind me of the story where a squadron of soldiers are marching right left right left. One soldier named John is marching left right left right. John's mother is watching and she comments .,"OH look everyone is out of step except my son."
