I feel so alone in my decision to open my mind to different possibilities.
I am just tired of people not being able to think for themselves about what could be after death.
Does ANYONE agree with me?

I think 'birdsflies' needs to stop preaching, and give me an answer instead of completely insulting atheists.

I went exploring thru the different ideas on spirituality for many years. There's nothing wrong with finding out what other faiths say, but you might find that somewhere along the line, you have to make up your mind about if there is a God or not. This is the core of the matter. Atheists say that there isn't one, but most of the other faiths say that there is at least one.
Actually, your's is the first step in the journey to maturity. If you find that you believe in God, then you will eventually find your personal relationship with that God. While I personally believe that the Bible is the right source, you need to explore what you believe and why. If you can't prove your beliefs from somewhere, then your belief is superstition, not solid faith. So the best of luck, and definitely explore...but figure out what you are looking for and why FIRST.

If you are truly open to ideas would you be willing to consider the idea that biology shows That God is indeed there or are you closed to a scientific finding that all but proves that
what I just said is so? There is a scientific phenomenon called chirality that shows there is no way life spontaneously sprang to life here or anywhere. Dr. Charles McCombs Ph.D.
Organic Chemist has shown that the proteins needed to build life have a property called chirality, that is they have a handiness property some some a right handiness property some a left. If created in a natural way or as in an experiment by Stanley Miller and Harold Urey in 1953 reported to be "Life in a Test-tube" produced L and R proteins in a 50/50 solution. Because the proteins strings needed to build the strings of life must be built of all Left handed strings the Rs and Ls must be separated. Stanley Miller and Harold Urey couldn't do this in a lab and it could never happen in nature. It means that an outside intelligence greater than ours did the work of creation. It doesn't matter if you believe that life began here or was transplanted it still had to start somewhere and that isn't possible by natural means because of chirality. I have tried to make this explanation as simple as possible if you want the report I have on this fine I'll send it but it is filled with scientific language. I have been studying it a lot these past few months you can study it too if you wish.... Jim

yeah I agree with your belief system but I find hard to understand how a person that offers no understanding can ask for the same.
If a person threatened you with stories of eternal damnation and suffering beyond the human imagination then there is a real good chance that you will not stray from your belief system. Look at what happened to hte people of Europe when they chose to explore other ideas... they got beheaded. And in my mind the hell that they described in the little baptist church I grew up in was a lot worse than basically a split second of feeling and huge knife run thru my neck.
I understand your premise that ignorance teaches ignorance but I think you could at least take in mind why they choose to remain ignorant. Especially if one thing you seek is understanding from others.
I would have to doubt your original premise though. From your thumbs up/down marks it looks like you are seeking acceptance rather than understanding

Are you severe? The bible is God's be conscious or inspite of the actuality that and once you're declaring "properly do not purely study that reason it gained't make experience study the coed's writing too" then you're declaring the bible gained't make experience and also you mustn't might want to study any pupil's writing's to understand the bible. The bible is meant to be the words to stay by and in case you want to further comprehend it with students writing's then you comprehend on your heart the bible is organic crap.

I agree.
The bible was written by men (and men only) who believed the world was flat in languages (some of which no longer exist) other than english. It is no more now than an interpreted group of morality tales. Or are we supposed to believe that Noah lived to 900 years old (oh that's right, the 'calendar' has been changed numerous times since then). Are we to believe that humanity evolved ONLY from adam & eve? If that is so, then aren't we all a product of incest (and seeing as adam & eve only had sons....). I have nothing against the bible as a morality play/guideline to 'better spiritual living'. But that same book has been used ad nauseum to subjecate countless numbers since it first was put to paper. And for those who rely on it as the word of god..aren't you being hypocritical in not following your own commandments? THOU SHALL HAVE NO OTHER GOD BEFORE ME...in my opinion, if you use a written document (which by the way is being 're-interpreted' again) you are not following GOD, which is in your heart/soul.

Absolutely, I agree with you. It takes courage as well as intelligence to overcome the mass brainwashing of organized religions. You're on the right path. An open mind is the first step in understanding what life is really all about.

Agree with you? I applaud you for achieving rationality. One in ten people you meet are Atheist also, so you are not alone. Sometimes it is hard to spot us because even though they are no longer allowed to kill us, there are things that religionists still do to cause us pain. I lost a job because a boss heard through the grape-vine that I was an Atheist.

Where's the conflict? I assume you are talking about the Bible and not the Koran, not that it really matters, neither is 2,000 years old.
No where does the Bible say to close your mind. Your mind has to be open to the realities of today's society. But that doesn't mean you can't follow the principles of your faith.
What do you care about other people's beliefs about what happens after death? What you believe is up to you. And it is something that is between you and any ruling force that you care to believe in.

My mind is always open to hear something, But if that something has a uncertain sound, then I know when to close my ears, Because if a Trumpet gives a uncertain sound, how can we prepared oursleves to battle against satan. As far as agreeing with you, NO way. You might get some people that don't care about anything agree with you, but not this Chistian. Many like you have try so very Hrd to dis-prove God in a slick & sly way, Sorry, That Holy Ghost in me will not allow me to swallow anything else but the word of God.

there are many who open their minds who do not believe everything they read or hear in any book or books. as for me I have no problem in believing in an INVISIBLE GOD. no one has ever seen the wind yet everyone has felt the effects of the wind so therefore the wind exists. all one has to do is look at the glories in the heavens and the Earth to observe the Handiwork's of GOD to know HE exists. after the physical container dies the essence of the being is free to leave this plane of existence and go to a different plane of existence where this essence will continue in existence in that undiscovered country from whose borne no traveler has returned.
