I am considering finding a new church to attend in the West Carrollton, Miamisburg area. The church I have attended the last 2 years is struggling and I have moved out of the area, so I am kinda feeling confused, I am wondering if anyone can recommend any churches in this area & advise on looking for a new church.. what I should consider?? I am baptist, looking for a non legalistic Baptist church, or Non Denominational Church, I am also willing to consider other denominations...if you recommend another denomination please discribe what they believe that is different than baptist so that I understand. Also while I know that doctorine is most important, I am also wanting to find a church that plays contemporary music ( i like casting crowns, kutless, chris tomblin types sound). I also am wondering about if any of these churches disicaple their ppl?

Dear Jenni,
I definintely agree with Dodi's recommendation to pray about finding a church.

I can't help you with a specific church but a thought came to me after I read your question. Music is nice but remember the Word of the Lord will stand forever so let the way that the minister handles the Word of God be your main criteria.

I grew up in a Congregational/Presbyterian church which eventually became UCC. As an adult I was away from church for many many years. I went back to a UCC church but it left me thirsting for much more after I started reading and studying the Bible.

Two years ago I started church shopping and found several nice ones but I eventually chose a very small "Baptistic" church.

May our heavenly Father bless your search!

My dear, if you are looking for place to worship then please pray first. The Allmighty will lead you to where HE wants you to be if you ask. Otherwise, I would visit churches in the area and find where you are comfortable. Some of the things I would look at is whether there is solid teaching from the Bible, not just from a study guide; the attitude of the preacher; the way that people interact with each other; and how they treat their children. I found that when people don't have their children around them at least part of the service, they are a dying church.

You might also look into Methodism, Presbyterianism, and the Messianics, but first....PRAY! May God bless your search.

you must do what you feel in your heart is the right thing to do. however, suggest you attend several different Churches in the area before deciding which one to attend. this way you will know first hand and have a better idea as to the various-age groups and opportunities each has.
