Sounds an awful lot like depression. There are many types of depression so it is best if you talk to your GP. You are perfectly normal, many people suffer this horrible illness including myself. I battled with it for 6 years and never saw a doctor or told anyone about it. Earlier this year I decided enough was enough when I realised that I was planning my own suicide. I went to the doctor and he put me in touch with a good counsellor and unfortunately I also had to take anti-depressants. After a few weeks I began to perk up a little, getting up in the morning was no longer a reason to brake down in tears. Now I am completely off the tablets and no longer need counselling. I find that when I do have the odd day where I get down I can manage it better and pull myself out of it. There is light at the end of the tunnel but you have to take the first step towards it. Make an appointment with your doctor and set the wheels in motion. You will feel better just for taking control of it. It might be a long road but you will get there and you are never alone. Be brave x

I'm so sorry you are feeling like that. It sounds like depression or depressive disorder. Or maybe some sort of bipolar type thing. The best advice I could only hope you take is to call someone right now! Don't go another day feeling like that. Tell someone and see your doctor. If you don't have a doctor ask a friend or co worker or student or neighbor, anyone to recommend one. If you don't feel comfortable doing that, call someone from the yellow pages. There are lots of things that can help you. I don't know what your age is. It could be something so simple as PMS even. None of this means you have a mental problem. All of us need help sometime in our lives. Please call someone now and tell them your need help getting in to see a doctor immediately. Better yet, I just realized you can go to your local emergency room. They will definately help you. Please go and talk to them now. Good luck and I can't tell you enough you are not a bad person. You just need help with your feelings. I wish you the best.

Yes it is absolutely 'Dis-ease' for you But it isn't become 'Disease' yet :-)
You still have plenty of time to prevent yourself from it, and I am sure that you won't have mental problem.***Because a real mental ill person wouldn't accept or even think that they are sick.!
But you are aware of it, worry about your mental health, don't want to have this kind of illness, and you seek help. Then you are not ill. :-)
*Mental illness takes years....and a lots of factors to build up the desease but what you are having now it's just the normal things that everybody has it when they feeling totally or extreamly down and the person doesn't know how to release or let it out of the system or the body&nature of the person get rid of these junk moods in a wrong way then it has 'conflict' between the body and the mind
***BUT you said you start crying for no reason and can't eat, no feeling to do anything***That's may be the way of your body&nature is working to help you get rid of BAD ENERGIES AND THOUGHTS within you...Do you know all human has such a healing power and tools within THAT IS 'CRYING' &'TEARS' to wipe out all the dirt inside us. Why don't use it for the fullest.
It doesn't mean you are sick or weak at all. :-)

They may be symptons, and they are some of the classic symptoms of depression as so many ppl have said.

They are not only symptoms of depression however. Is there a pattern to this? Do you feel really great some weeks, but when you feel like the above want to withdraw? If so it could posibbly be bi-polar.

They could also be symptoms of loss or bereavement, poor diet, thyroid imbalance, hormone imbalance and a myriad of other things. I recommend that you start off seeing your doctor to make sure there is nothing physically wrong. If that produces no fruit, find a counsellor.

All the best

It sounds like depression, but probably not, still,. you need to see a doctor, you could also try to find out what is causing this, problems at home, diet, relationships, work, studies where you live, life away from home. all these factors could play a role in causing depression and general sadness. another symptom is feeling tired all the time even though you have plenty of sleep. everyone has this at some stage,... u'll get over it!! another option is taking a holiday or short break from routine and go somewhere. I hope this helps and hope u get better.

Possibly depression, but depends how long you've had these symptoms? And is there any obvious cause? Like the loss of someone close, or the breakdown of a relationship, or redundancy..? Etc. Are you busy, or bored? Boredom can sometimes make you navel-gaze a bit, but if you keep yourself occupied then you might find you're feeling okay. If not then make a date to see your GP. God bless X

It seems like a depression, either caused by personal issues or by a chemical imbalance

I've been through one some time ago, it's an awful thing.
You should seek some counseling or maybe join a support group, I've heard those really help to get through this problem.

Remember depression is a common thing and many people go through one at some point of their lives. You too will get through this.
Good luck.

It could be depression but crying is natural & healthy & healing.

I lose my appetite somettimes & I use affirmations (see Louise L Hay 's book Heal Your Body).
Also have u thought of seeing a healer?
Go to this site to find the nearest healing centre (they work on donations only as they have to pay for hiring halls etc but it's basically free):

I don't think these are symptoms but therapy might help. Your GP can refer u for CBH (cognitve behavioural therapy) under the NHS or u can see someone privately. I don't know what's the best therapy but see which one u feel drawn to.

If you arent exaggerating and this is truely how you feel/have felt for 2 weeks or longer, than you probably have depression.
If this hasnt been going on for that long you should wait it out a bit because you cant be diagnosed if youve only been having the symptoms for a short time, ie; less than 2 weeks.

You are most likely suffering from some sort of depression and need to see your physician immediately. He/she can test you to see if the depression is being caused by a hormonal imbalance, a thyroid imbalance or if it is just plain old clinical depression. Also, if you have some sort of sleep disorder, that can seriously mess with your mental health.

This IS something that can be corrected so don't be reluctant to see your physician. It is far more common that you realize.
