hey db,
in India, people don't accept love 'coz the culture in india still doesn't allow people to do that. Coincidently, 95% of the love affairs, that you wud find, are inter-caste or inter-religious, which is not accepted in india still in the modern times. Indians keep saying that "we have modernized or westernized", but sadly they are "STILL" following the age-old customs, values, and norms.
and bollywood, i guess, is trying to break these age-old customs and taboos, that's the only reason they present the movies as "love-stories" so that people can be made aware of many social problems prevailing among the society, every movie gives a message, u know.
No doubts, Indians love to see the romantic movies, but they never try to use the "moral of the movie" in their lives, they just think it's a filmy thing and just consider it just a way of their entertainment and they don't even try to think about the purpose or the moral of the movie they saw..................... they'd surely praise the bold steps that the heros take for the heroines in the movies but if that happens in the real life, they wud be the first ones to scold their children.........................
sope! u can better understand it now.
goodday!

Because .......... they are INDIAN parents !!! They think differently, movies are appreciated b'coz ppl take them as a source of entertainment only. And one more think........
Indian movies are not only based on love but they are also based on dreams. They inspire ppl to live in a virtual world where everything is lovable, and as good as you can think. But real life is not like that, it's hard and full of responsibilities.
If this is not what you were expecting from me to tell you.then i am sorry to disappoint you !
