i cycle...go from swollen (up to 15 lbs weight gain in a matter of a couple days, if not overnight) and then i'm thrown into dehydration as i eliminate all the extra fluids in ummm, uncomfy ways. i think because i get dehydrated as well, medication is something i'd rather avoid. i get dehydrated just as much. it's back and forth....constantly.

Drinking coffee, tea, cranberry juice, or any other "diuretics" cause you to excrete out excess water and even non-excess in urine. Of course what you use is dependent on your disease or condition. The other suggestions posted of cutting down on salt are excellent as well. Prescription medications can help, but I would try natural remedies first. Health food stores carry herbs in conbinations that are good diuretics as well. Usually affordable and they can work surprisingly well. While you are "clearing" yourself of excess water, be sure that you still continue to drink as you can actually dehydrate while still having water in stomach, bladder, etc.

Lasix would be the best thing to go with, but I have also heard of mixing vinegar and water and doing it that way. See you doctor though.

Your doctor can put you on a pill that helps. I think going to the doctor is the only help you will find. I know there is a pill because I have a friend that takes it.

My aunt has this and she has a perscription for it. Ask you doctor. She also has to avoid pretty much all salt. Like if you use canned vegies, they have tons of salt. No salt on your food. Good luck.

as you have a doc, he could prescribe Lasix. If not, the OTC Pamprin includes a mild diuretic.

Ask your doctor for lasix, and aldactone. Combined, they work great!!!! Lasix is a prescribed diuretic, and aldactone is also a diuretic, but it replenishes the potassium that you loose when you urinate.

You definitely need diuretics. Ask you doctor what he can recommend or try coffee. It's a very good diuretic.
