Get pedialyte, and have him drink that, it will keep him hydrated. You can give him bananas, as they are a stool firmer, and crackers, as they are gentle on the stomach. Don't worry too much about food, it is more important that he not get dehydrated. Good luck.

I agree with Bellamye, the BRAT diet works wonders :)
Banannas
Rice
Applesauce
Toast
You can also try some crackers, just make sure to stay away from anything that has dairy and also make sure to keep your little one hydrated. Pedialyte works well as does water with a little bit of gatorade. Good Luck :)

Bananas, if they can hold it down, no apple juice, gives them diarrhea. If they can't hold down solids, go to the store and near the baby formula their is Vita Lite products there that will give them the vitamins they need. Also give them clear liquids, sprite, 7 up, chicken broth, dehydration is the main concern with kids having diarrhea. /bamatrikker@yahoo.com

my son had diarrhea at the same time we resorted to jello, applesauce, mashed potatoes and toast if he has teeth. weak tea, and wal-mart brand infant electrolyte replacement liquid. we also tried mashed up chicken soup. Have you called your pediatrician? Might just let him/her know so that if you have to go in he'll have a record of how long it's been going on.

We just went through this with our sons...the BRAT (bananas, rice, applesauce, toast) diet is good when they have been throwing up...Keep him hydrated with pedialyte...if he has a fever call a doctor...could be one of those stomach bugs...so watch him for the vomiting etc...sometimes with infants it's just their system adjusting to a new food and it goes away in a day or so...but just watch for the other signs! Call your doctor and ask him?!

Clear liquids only until diarrhea ceases. This a standard procedure known to all.

Apparently not what you're feeding him now. 14 months, diarrhea for 12 hours, Hmmm, dehydration, sound familiar? Fluids, call doctor, wait for gasp, then shocked silence, then get your precious little one to doctors office!!!!! Better safe then gazing down onto a hospital bed, don't cha think?

water NO gatorade or 7up or juice or milk
crackers, dry cereal, dry cooked pasta, chicken noodle and other soups with NO milk,
nothing with dairy or sugars
you may also want to check into Pedialyte IF the symptoms dont improve really soon or your child could dehydrate
call your Pediatrician

I would worry more about keeping him/her hydrated at this point. Drinking lots of fluids, and try to give him something that won't upset his/her stomach anymore than it probably is. Crackers, toast, etc.
I would also call a doc ... they might want to check him/her out.
Hope your little one is feeling better soon
