To assist, employ, give shelter, concealment,of a criminal for any reason ,including your own beliefs..As in it is a federal felony to aid and abet an illegal alien in any way for any reason. Here is that law.

Section 274 felonies under the federal Immigration and Nationality Act, INA 274A(a)(1)(A):

A person (including a group of persons, business, organization, or local government) commits a federal felony when she or he:

* assists an alien s/he should reasonably know is illegally in the U.S. or who lacks employment authorization, by transporting, sheltering, or assisting him or her to obtain employment, or

* encourages that alien to remain in the U.S. by referring him or her to an employer or by acting as employer or agent for an employer in any way, or

* knowingly assists illegal aliens due to personal convictions.

Penalties upon conviction include criminal fines, imprisonment, and forfeiture of vehicles and real property used to commit the crime. Anyone employing or contracting with an illegal alien without verifying his or her work authorization status is guilty. Aliens and employers violating immigration laws are subject to arrest, detention, and seizure of their vehicles or property. In addition, individuals or entities who engage in racketeering enterprises that commit (or conspire to commit) immigration-related felonies are subject to private civil suits for treble damages and injunctive relief.

IT means more than you seam to know'' law is a two sided coin, if you don't believe this it's because you live indoors to much, the laws have always been flexible if you know the right people in politics, no way in hell you can go against this fact because it's the reality of how our small world works, it's not about Mexicans and it's not about you or i, we as citizens can run around all day preaching about the laws, but the thing you missed was the people who wright the laws always leave an opening to escape that same law, and to do that you only have to know who to ask, some day maybe we will all see more clearly what is going on behind all of what we are hearing on our TVs it's called advertising and the pros's know how to bend your thinking to their ways, this complex control of citizens has been around since before you where born and they only get better at their game, ask your self how would you control a country where so many live if you where in charge?? you can't please every one and you know its true, so you must leed every one with the allusion they will get what they want until your job is finished, and the next group will do the same things look at the history of politics what has changed in 30 years?? nothing sir, we are treated like children and still belive all we are told,, we are only lying to our self's.

Welling seeing as you put this under immigrations.

Knowingly hiring someone who is illegal.
Knowingly giving someone who is illegal a place to stay. For rent or rent free it's still illegal.

By hiring and sheltering them your are aiding them and abetting by not reporting

knowingly and willingly assisting someone in breaking a law, or in avoiding getting caught. Since you're in the immigration category with your question, one example might be an employer knowingly hiring an illegal alien, even though it's against the law.

As Guilty Of The Crime
As If He Committed The Crime Himself

ie:
Third Provision Of HR 4437

" Anyone or any organization
who “assists” an individual without documentation
“to reside in or remain” in the United States
knowingly or with “reckless disregard”
as to the individual’s legal status
would be liable for criminal penalties
and five years in prison.
This could include church personnel
who provide shelter or other basic needs assistance
to an undocumented individual.
Property used in this act
would be subject to seizure and forfeiture. "
