I know some atheists and really i dont have any problem with them, i like their sense of humor and i respect them. If i offended someone of you, please forgive me because really i dont wanna do it. And i wonder your non-believer identity is only based on God and religions or dont you "believe" in anything at all like human feelings, spirituality, sixth sense etc..

An a- the- ist is one who does not believe in a god with a pesonality, consciousness, or face.
Call almost all of the Eastern world atheist, then.
Doesn't mean they don't believe in anything.
Yes, I am Eastern in thought if I am anything, now.
And yes, I beleive very strongly in the brain, Lisa.
Except, I've had 5 semi-psychic experiences (visions, dreams, and odd comments/drawings I made) that tell me I really don't know it all.
I respect and accept that MYSTERY, which is something I doubt the gnostics would really approve of (don't know enough about it).
I respect that there are human limitations, but I don't go crazy trying to explain things
using magical (oops, I mean, religious) explanation for how we got here and where we're going, etc.
I live with mystery, knowing that we are all manifestations of
The One,
The Force,
and what I prefer to call
Order.
Order relates most closely to my keen need for scientific reasoning. We couldn't even maintain our physical cohesion long enough to exist without Order, without the Laws of the Universe.
And I'm thankful that the sun rises and sets every night.
I'm thankful that everything- more or less- stays where we left it. And I look for practicality in my ethics, because to me, there is order in the science of what will usually work for people.

That depends what type of atheist you are talking to.
Some atheist do believe in the supernatural, just not anything powerful enough to qualify as a deity.
Some atheist only believe in things that can be apprehended with the five senses.
Some atheist believe that morals evolved (which explains why many of them treat Christians like a lion would a lost lamb).
Some believe morals are made up by the individual.
Some believe morals are made up by the culture. (Which makes me wonder what they think about the Nazi culture)
Some believe in only themselves.
Some believe that society will keep on evolving until we are they are like little gods.
Basically they are quite a diverse bunch, though not quite as diverse as theist are.

I am not an atheist but I am sure they believe in something; it could be humanity, good morals, etc. I only feel sorry because to me they are the most religious of all. Where do morals come from after all? Religion is mainly good manners and humanity before praying and doing rituals. They are religious people who do not believe in God or prophets.
I am sure they cdan speak better for themselves, but felt like sharing my view as a muslim.
Peace

I believe in things there is evidence for. Human feeling falls into that category. What you call spirituality I would probably call emotion.
I really don't believe in anything supernatural because there is a lack of evidence for it. When science examines it, and it has a lot, it always comes up short. Without evidence you are just fooling yourself.

Some believe in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders - Fourth Edition
This interesting scientific book explains how illusions, delusions, halucinations, thinking that invisible things are watching you etc... are together symptoms of mental illness.

They believe in reality . They believe in what they and others are able to see .touch ,hear ,taste and smell .You know the 5 senses. If they see a rock and others can see the same rock ,then the rock is real .If a blind man touches the rock .he can See what the rock feels like .The truth is what is in front of you not in the future .

There are no TRUE atheists.
Everyone believes in something, right or wrong?????
What is right????
What is wrong?
What is Good?
What is Evil?
Even the laws of our country are based on WHAT?
The Biblical teachings found in the BIBLE.
Thou Shalt not Kill-------Murder is a crime!
Thou Shalt not Steal----Robbery is a crime!
Thou shalt not bear false witness-----Perjury is a crime! ETC.....
I think you see my point. If there is no God then there is no Right or Wrong, we could all do what seems right in our own eyes. WE NEED GOD, EVERYONE NEEDS GOD!
