America as I have known it is moving away from basic principles that made our country great. Maybe it's no big deal that a town is not celebrating Christmas proudly, but I think it shows a much bigger problem going on. An under current of apathy, arrogance and selfishness that historically has caused the demise of other great civilizations. Citizens used to rally together to voice their choice. Things got done. Things changed. Not all for the better. But people were interested and involved because they cared about all of us, not just their home or town.

People are still interested in changing things. Just this past week Toys for Tots reversed their decision to accept Jesus dolls due to Christian protests. Wal-mart withdrew their plan to support gays due to Christian outcry. We are not going away just because the unrighteous in our community want us to. We will continue to fight for decency and Jesus.

No one is "loosing" their rights. People are rallying and getting things done, and the percentage of traditional Christians in the United States is dropping every year. People that aren't Christian are speaking up because they're tired of Christianity creeping into our public schools and government. You can do what ever you want in your own home or your own business, our laws protect that. But you can not take that onto government property to include public schools, our laws also protect that. Don't you see this is about protecting religious freedoms FOR ALL not just for Christians? The government is for all the people, and to endorse one religion would not only make our founding fathers turn over in their graves, it's unfair to those that don't practice that religion. I would add though that if you look at history a big cause of demise is also religion in government.

Now yes, sometimes I think the backlash can be a bit too much and target Christians. It's partially due to the mistreatment by select Christians of other religions in this country, and unfortunately people take those bad experiences and treat all Christians poorly. So stand up for your rights, freedom of religion is your right too.

Where in the constitution does it say that celebrating christmas is a fundamental right of americans? NOT celebrating christmas is indicative of nothing more than a true christians acknowledgement of the holiday's pagan origins. You're the one making the mistake.

According to the bible, Jesus said "render unto ceasar that which is ceasar's". THE BIBLE ARGUES THAT CHURCH AND STATE SHOULD BE SEPERATE. This means , in the case, that if you want to celebrate x-mas as a religious holiday, DO IT IN CHURCH, OR THE PRIVACY OF YOUR OWN HOME. At no point in time should the US gov't be allowed to endorse, promote, or condone any one faith, without giving others their equal due. This is common sense, not what's quickly becoming known as christian persecution. Nobody is throwing christians to the lions. They just aren't allowed to get their way over the faith and belief of anyone else, and they're pouting about it.

Hi, I am not an American but I am saddened that the principals of it`s founding Fathers are being erroded bit by bit.
America was founded on the great laws of Christianity and it appears that these are under constant attack from the secular and anti-Christian lobby, if America is to be truly great again then the people must reclaim their Christian heritage and fight back.
In God we trust.

Yes. It started with little things and those things snowballed and now no one is supposed to say Merry Christmas or pray in schools. Next they will be taking "In God We Trust" off of our money. Don't people realize that is why our country is so great? Because we at least made an attempt to be founded on God and moral principles. Once we push God out of our country, He will leave and then we're in trouble.

I agree for the most part. If we aren't careful we will be ruled, regulated and statuted out of our ability to walk down the street when we want, or where we want. The american people have become so splintered in the last few years that nothign CAN get done...the politicos are taking full advantage of that, and even encourageing some of those separations...eventually they will be able to conlidate anough of their power that they can't be stopped and WE wond have any rights left...

Not celebrating a Christmas party proudly? Maybe their pride is that they are realizing there are people of all religions and beliefs and are not ''pushing'' one ideology over another. I think this is great!

B. Franklin said, " those who are willing to give up a little freedom for safety deserve neither freedom nor safety. " this is why I have always tried to be active in community affairs and defend the free will and rights of others whether one agrees with me or not.

Dude, celebrate christmas all you want. But don't do it on gov't property or with gov't money - we have a secular gov't that's not supposed to be paying for your religion. Or else go ahead and let every other religion in the world (all 10,000 of them) use our gov't money to celebrate their holidays as well - see how long it takes us to go broke.
