I've pulled the hide off & want to clean the skull plate off real well, get it dried then mount the antlers. Any suggestions?

I agree with texan_mai but then soak or keep coating the skull with hydrogen-peroxide. This will bleach the skull out white as snow. Becareful not to get it on the antlers!

Too clean it I would boil the plate in water with some baking soda. make shure you dont let the antlers sit in the water. When your done dry it and apply peroxide to and it will be clean and really white. I did this with my first buck but did the whole skull and it worked out really good.

The skull alone? Leave it outside & let the bugs/ beetles do it. And then it dries naturally as well.
It is done this way here at an nature preserve/wildlife sanctuary all the time. They then display the cleaned skeleton in the lobby. with a description of the animal.

I have a buffalo skull that was given to me with everything but the hide on it, and in it. It was buried for a couple months, and when it was dug up, all of that junk was gone. The bugs will eat it. Make sure you don't dig it up early, though, because it will really stink.

Boil it keeping the horns out of the water, then soak them in paroxide.
