She must try to walk anyway; it will promote her cardiovascular health. I know she feels weak and in a lot of pain and probably can barely step with the one leg, but this will help her. She also needs to avoid sunlight burning her coz of the lupus. Good sunscreen, be careful what lotions are worn when going outside coz some will make her photosensitive. Long sleeve shirts, even in the summer, but these do not have to be all the way to the wrist, just cover up mostly and stay in the shade when possible. Exercising at night and early morning in the coolness of outdoors will be more comfortable perhaps.

A good diet, or a better one, will also be helpful, particularly one that is good for the skin. Drink lots of water.... Rest. Get to bed at a decent time every night. If she has those things, I know caffeine won't keep her awake coz she will be so exhausted and lucky to stay up past 9:30 p.m.... Try to be asleep by 10/10:30 every night.

I don't know if you wonder about the external so much as the internal, but I cannot suggest anything for the redness coz I don't even know how to keep mine from being so bad. But...the rest she needs to hear from a doctor and maybe a counselor, coz sometimes doctors are too rushed to be of much help in the comforting and advising departments. I'm not saying see a counselor for mental stuff necessarily, but like, just whoever can talk with her about how to manage the feelings with her pain, how to do daily things and still have a somewhat normal life, know what I mean?

Oh, I forgot to say: if she keeps walking every day or every other day or so, she will avoid the weight gain from the medicines given to control the inflammation.

www.fibromyalgiatreatment.com
www.hufa.org (as fibromyalgia is sometimes associated with hypoglycemia and lupus can be complicated by candida albicans fungus)

Diet is key. Check out some of the books in the library link at www.hufa.org about yeast (candida albicans). That may have been the cause of the red spots. If you can fix her food, you can work with the "allowed foods" to find foods she likes that will help her get better.

hi Christina

The most important step to take is to do a cleansing program. Doesnt matter what disease she has this is the first step. Must clean out the toxins that have been created in the blood. Do a Colon and Liver cleanse to get started. Im sure she doesnt have regular bowel movements and when the toxins sit in the colon they get in blood and this is what causes most diseases. She can heal herself Ive seen it done, but she has to educate herself on clenasing and nutrition.

The best programs to learn this from is
herbdoc.com or healmarketplace.com

Best of health to both of you

Is your mom taking any medication? Usually people with both diseases are treated with a combination of steroids (like Prednisone) and pain medication. The steroids are anti-inflammatory and the pain meds of course help with the pain. Physical therapy my also help. I don't know where you live, but there are also pain management clinics out there. Just do a search for clinics in your area. Good Luck!
