why do you think you need someone elses approval or friendship if they are being your friend due to popularity then they arent really a true friend they say if you end up with 5 good friends true friends in your life then you have been truly blessed Try this you get up every morning &look inn the mirror & say "I love me I'm the greatest person I know"you truly are your greatest fan or at least you should be if you dont love yourself first then you will never be able to love anyone else. with some self confidence like that then you will on your own become popular selfconfidence is very attractive

Study/analyze the scenario and do the necessary to be popular.
For example, if you want to be a music artist famous like Madonna, study how singers dress, walk, think, talk, meet music makers/producers able to create music that sell at the moment, etc... so that you become an artist.
Other example would be, if you want to be famous at work, think about a possible person that is already famous at work and think why she is famous. Is the way she walk, talk, dress? Is the hair color? his modelled body working 6 days per with in the gym?
Whatever, I am sure you can be like her and the most important, better than her.

ah - by looking like me!? no seriously. Popularity is over-rated. It makes you succumb to peer pressure and next thing you will be wanting to do stupid things like smoke and drink.
Be an individual. You will have a much fuller life.

Be a very good listener (look at your friends and really, truly listen and focus on what they are saying)
Try to be upbeat and positive as much as possible (don't be a downer)
