I live in Logan Square neighborhood of Chicago, and I'm looking for a good lowest price cable tv and internet. I don't have a home phone and don't want one. Any suggestions for low prices?
Thanks for your help!

I recently setup DSL for a relative who also didn't want a phone, just like you. You can get basic phone service from AT&T for only $7, then add $15 for the DSL and your monthly bill is only around $22. Just don't plug an actual phone to the line, that way you won't be tempted to use it and run up per-minute charges. The rep is going to try to sell you extra services like Caller ID etc that increase your bill, Just Say No and keep repeating that you only want to pay $7.

Avoid RCN, they are a hassle to deal with, for example they'll make a "mistake" on your bill and then you have to spend hours on the phone with them to fix it. Also one time I called RCN just to ask the price, and without my permission they went ahead and started cancelling my AT&T (at the time SBC) service and switching me to them.

I got comcast and I am very happy they gave me a deal when I got internet and cable tv. Also my cable is 100 times faster than dsl and it has no interuptions, it stays always on
I had dsl and i always lost connections at least once a day and it was not that fast.
good luck

I think you need a phone line for all cable providers.
