I am working on being friends with every single being on this world due to the fact that we are all equal. We all want happiness and want to avoid suffering, and there is no reason for me to believe that there is some inherent superiority in some peoples births.
it seems to me that there is a solid distribution of these three reasons for friendships in the western society, so not want stands out to me.
In my experiences with relashonships there has been very little heartbrake or misfortune. I think this is because i have learned to not be attached to the people that i have this relashonships with.
We are violent due to our attachments to things and people. Mostly the attachment to our ego.
It seems to your last bit, it is because of a shortsightedness that some beings have as to what will make them happy.

When I see your text,.. all I see is lies.
People base things on popularity and the bandwagon. They do not get to pick things. Atleast normal people.
We are not the most violent, this is common amoung other animals. We are not the only ones who reject,.. this is a common indicator that your too far along in adolesenses with some animals.
There is no telling who I will be friends with. I am most likely to end up with other misfits. But some times the highest on the social heirarcy will pick me out as a good friend if they are a good person verse someone that got places by bullying. I also get picked out for my skills and intelligence.
I guess I try to use Intelligence [useing mine to determine how others are instead of following popularity or trend] as my guide. But like I said,.. I'm not normal.

I don't understand what you mean about friendship. I pick my friends for having the correct set of virtues (goodness? but not necessarily niceness). And with that, I do not see what misfortunes and heartbreaks could I possibly find to regret my choice of friends. It could simply mean that I did not find the virtue in that person that I thought was there.
But whether or not a person is my friend, I am morally obligated to treat him with justice. There may be violence sometimes. And there will of course be selfishness. But it is not the violence of beasts. And it is not the unthinking selfishness of a rogue who does not recognize that it is in his best interest to respect others.

We're a product of evolution and as such all are traits have helped us survive up till now...We live for a certain amount of time and then we're gone forever...make the best of the time you have...don't get stuck on things that won't matter once you're dead...live, dude, live...don't waste too much time (unless you enjoy it) on trying to figure out "why the sky is blue", instead, enjoy the blue sky.............

We are the product of our upbringing. Our parents, relatives, the friends we hang with, what we learn from school and church. What we see, read, listen to,, all point us to who and what we are or will be. Only we can accept or alter what will be.

Not many friends, eh?
Friends are not for "utilization," they are for mutual enrichment.
Without the "mutual" they are just users or employees.

That, my friend, you must find out yourself.
Our lives' goal is to discover this world's mysteries.
