Human rights are those basic standards without which people cannot live in dignity. To violate someone's human rights is to treat that person as though she or he were not a human being. To advocate human rights is to demand that the human dignity of all people be respected.

Don't you mean, "what are human rights?" That term describes the rights we have as humans, in relation to living within a society with other humans.

Okay...

If you're asking "Is humanity right?" Then I have to say that humanity isn't right or wrong, just evolution trying to better itself.

If you're asking "Is what is human right?" Then I have to say, yes, for the most part, I think being human is "right."

"Eneida M" had it just about right...but I'd like to add one more thing: "Human Rights" aren't god given...as some folks seem to think...So many times I've heard people say: "I've got my rights!!"...actually you have no "rights" whatsoever unless someone gives them to you first...and in a mutual exchange of civility...
