In some countries is an habit to invite your friends or a lady but honestly, I feel that is a stupid habit as I think everyone has own projects in life and his economy accord to it but people do not understand that and generally, when you want to pay your own expenses, one looks like a rat to the others.

Honestly, I have had situations that I invite people but at the end of the day, I have paid more and I feel like a moron but at the same time is a situation that you cannot reclaim to that person "hey, you owe me a drink" so conclusion, you spend money that cost you efford to get it just because you are shy of saying anything but , is it not a kind of social engineering?

Its called going dutch. Lots of people do it. That means everyone pays their own way but chips in on the tipping. You have to tip because those people who wait on you get taxed even if you don't tip and why would anybody work at a job helping others if they don't get helped in return?

Whoever does the inviting does the paying. Are you just cheap, or did I misunderstand you? No one likes a miser.
