Have tried paint stripper but takes for ever.

You didn't mention the thickness of the aluminum. But if it's thick enough you can media blast it using crush walnut shells (finely crushed) it's a product used on lightweight metal (ie: thin gauge) that does not distort the metal. If you use sand the air pressure and weight of the sand will cause the thin metal to distort. this process is used on classic car restorations and on other materials that you would want to destroy the substrate ( original surface) .Remember the more air pressure you use the easier it will be to cause distortion. You can also do a chemical strip at a facility designed for that purpose. Google "Chem Strip"

High pressure blasting is safe and any cleaning material with acid but beware in the long run it can affect the aluminium

when i moved into my new home there is paint on my aluminium window and steel gate i removed it by using a flat piece of wood.

hot air gun, it will take it off in minutes as it will heat up the aluminuim

you could use wire wool but then you will have to polish it afterwards.
