I have a hole in my sump on my rover 220 gti and I need to takte it off to be welded.Can anybody tell me how to do this? thanks

there is a line of small bolts the whole way round the sump at the top of it, these all have to be taken out, the front exhaust will most likely have to be taken off. *drain all the oil out first.

Rover? No, don't take the sump off - you'll lose the oil and halve the value of your motor!!

about 20 to 25 10mm bolts hold it to the engine block if the hole is low down drain oil leave plug out and attempt to weld insitue careful for fire though
