The ovarian cycle involves changes in the ovaries, and can be further divided into three phases:
The follicular phase is the time from the first day of menstruation until ovulation, when a mature egg is released from the ovary. It’s called the follicular phase because growth or maturation of the egg is taking place inside the follicle, a small sac where the egg matures.8, p. 160; 9, p. 718
Ovulation occurs around day 14 of the cycle, in response to a surge of luteinizing hormone (LH) when the egg is released from the ovary.6, p. 16, 23-24
The luteal phase is the time from when the egg is released (ovulation) until the first day of menstruation, when you get your period.8, p. 160 It is named after the corpus luteum (Latin for "yellow body"), and is a structure that grows in the ovary where a mature egg was released at ovulation.to learn more go to this sight

Look up "rhythm method" in library, or on Internet. Check both, make sure the article is by a medical doctor, or institution of good repute.

See a doctor, if for birth control, this a very uncertain method. If for conceiving doctor can explain and provide a full proof kit, with thermometer and the instructions.........

ovulation occurs 14 days prior to begining of next cycle therefore you're looking at day 17

Please go buy yourself a copy of Taking Charge of Your Fertility. Every woman is NOT the same and this crap about 28 day cycles is just that...crap. It infuriates me that doctors still preach this, as if every woman's cycle is the same.
