Zidane is one of the greatest players of today. It was sad to see him go. I hope he's not remebered for his head butt like Maradonna is remebered for his hand of god goal. Zidane could do it all, he distrbuted well, shot well, passed well, made the right runs, crosses, and always seemed to be in the right spot. His awards include:
UEFA Club Football Awards, Best Midfielder: 1997-98
World Soccer Player of the Year: 1998
FIFA World Player of the Year: 1998, 2000, 2003
European Footballer of the Year (Ballon d'Or): 1998
UEFA Champions League Most Valuable Player: 2001-02
UEFA Golden Jubilee Poll (Best European player of the past 50 years): 2004
FIFA World Cup Golden Ball Award: 2006
FIFPro World XI Team: 2005, 2006
With France
FIFA World Cup
Winner: 1998
Runner Up: 2006
Appearances: 1998, 2002, 2006
European Championship
Winner: 2000
Appearances: 1996, 2000, 2004
With Girondins de Bordeaux
UEFA Cup runners up: 1995/1996
With Juventus F.C.:
Italian League - Serie A champions (scudetto): 1996/1997, 1997/1998
European Super Cup: 1996
Intercontinental Cup: 1996
Italian Super Cup: 1997
UEFA Champions League runners up: 1996/1997, 1997/1998
With Real Madrid:
Spanish Super Cup: 2001, 2003
UEFA Champions League: 2001/2002
Intercontinental Cup: 2002
Spanish League - La Liga champions: 2002/2003
European Super Cup: 2002
and that's not all.
He worked his *** off, he wasn't an arrogant lazt over-rated slob like Ronaldinho. Sure Ronaldinho is good, but tremndously over-rated and lazy. Zidane pushed to better his team no matter what. Cheap? NO!
A legend, one of the greatest players ever. I have yet to see a better midfielder since Eric Canttona, another French player.

He is a wonderful player, he has proven that in juventus, he has proved that in real madrid, he proved that in france, and it is because of him that france had to play the finals
Negaiive aspect - it is because of him that the rivalry between france and italy started, but don't think that materazzi is no cause
It is because of him that juventus is well known, and it is because of him that real madrid has become more famous.
It is because of him that people started hating materazzi, it was because of him people started hating himself
He has brought grace to football, he has taught young ones to improve their football, it is because of him that the world cup was even more famous.
It is because of him people started hating him/ liking him.
Negative asp[ect - people started headbutting others because of that world cup incident.
He is really a great player.
He is just a human who loses temper, just like you and me.
I don't know, why people hate him and criticize him for the last incident!
he is a costly legend!!!

no...the guy was one of the best in his time. The one cheap headbutt means nothing because the italian provoked him throughout the entire game. A guy can only take so much.
