Yeah you are actually right, lol. 'Cept I'Pods are slightly less reliable than the average MP3 player. You know those internet ads that clame they give away free I'Pods? Well basically so many I'Pods are sent back because of faults that all Apple can do is sell them for a minimal price to these small companys. These smaller companys send you the I-Pods plus alot of advertisements that more than covers the P&P and the cost of obtaining them. So basically, I'Pods are like MP3 players but alot less reliable and a whole lot more fashionable for a reason i fail to understand. A point well raised!

Yes, It's An Mp3 Player and A Whole Lot More.. iPod btw is a great fashion statement and what the heck? Everybody loves fashion+music, and that's why everybody use it. I Dunno about you but I See iPod has a reasonable price specially the Video iPod which took Zune by surprise and made Microsoft Loose a lot of money on every Zune Purchased because they too has to lower the price.. iPod Shuffle Too is reasonably priced at $79 it's something you won't cry on... And Yes That Company?--- It Innovates while others takes what is available... And Just to let you know? no mp3 player owns the market until the iPod came... That's Why its a legend...

Well yes, it's just an mp3 player but it is much smaller than some of the other options out there and sometimes cheaper. Hard drive mp3 players from other companies tend to be bigger and sometimes more expensive (depending on features, capacity, etc)
As for flash mp3 players, they don't organize your music into folders. That's one major difference. The second is that they tend to run on AAA batteries while hard drive players are rechargeable.
Any mp3 player can be good as long as it suits your needs.

Because of the beautiful form factor and good industrial design, it's been a hit. They also look great and were marketed very well as a fashion statement.
I wouldn't buy one for that purpose although they are great at what they do... play music.
There are other devices that do that, but more PSP, Zune, to bulky and most people just want to listen to music on their commute from work.. not go online or play games.
Good marketing and a luck...they did it for the iPod.

yep, an ipod is just an mp3 player, just it's Apple's version and it doesn't do as much as regular mp3 players.
