it;s really hard to find this online - have been looking for 20 min... what would be the rent in a double wide?

It depends on where you live, what size of trailer, age of the trailer.
In Western PA, you can expect to pay about $250 per month for lot rental for a standard size 12 x70. Utilities might cost you another $200 per month.
Around her you can buy a mobile home for prices anywhere from less than $5,000 for an old used one to $90,000 or more for a new, big double wide.
Check your Yellow Pages for "Mobile Home Dealers" in your area. If you do pick out a used MH to buy, there are used MH guides available just as there are guides available for used cars.

It's pretty econonomical, I can tell you that. You might want to consider looking for a great deal on a pre-owned trailer in nice condition, and there are companies that will tow it to a park and get you set up if you don't want to do it yourself.
