the boy normally uses a condom they do make a female condom how ever they are not as affective as the one a guy wears. the female condom well most are only about 75% effective while the one a guy wears are about 90% effective. so as you can see the boy condom would work better

i use them - my wife has side affects from the pill - condoms have been improved a lot over the years - it is nice that they now come in sizes cause all guys are not the same
