The Illuminati is the name of many groups, modern and historical, real and fictitious, verified and alleged. Most commonly The Illuminati refers specifically to the Bavarian Illuminati, an Enlightenment secret society. However, it often refers to a shadowy conspiratorial organization which is reputed to secretly control world affairs, usually a modern incarnation or continuation of the Bavarian Illuminati. In this conspiratorial context, Illuminati is often used in reference to a New World Order (NWO). they were the secret sect of men formed back in the 16th-17th century. Lots of powerful men were Mason's. There is a belief that they are the power behind events that happen around The World both good and bad. One thing is for sure, is the Mason's have been around for a lot longer than the suposed Illuminati, they are for real. Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, Samuel Adams, John Hancock, were some of the Mason that signed the Declaration of Independence.

Are they real is the first question? A lot of people talk about them but.... Some believe that groups like the MASONS control the world through politics. The Rothchilds of europe had a similar mystique. Look up the MASONS and the rothchilds to get an Idea of what people believe. A lot of US presidents were MASONs and this leads to the question of the upper levels of MASONs the ILLuminati have a lot of books written about them. Are they real? Does this world look like it has a written direction?

Havn't studied much on it yet but from what little I have heard it's a bunch of powerful men who are really running the country. People say it's not really true though.
