There were millions of them around in the 1960s, so practically any reasonably large used book store should have one. I don't know if it is still being published, but I'm sure your search engine can tell you that in a heartbeat. I'd guess Dover Publishers or Samuel Weiser if I had to guess, but one of the old hardbound copies that has served well bought in a used bookstore seems to have better magic.

As to how to properly use it, that will be in the book, of course. The book IS the I Ching; the coins or yarrow stalks you throw are the mechanics of "randomization" for the oracle. Just as shuffling and cutting cards is the "randomization" of the Tarot cards. But in Tarot, the cards ARE the "book," the Tarot. In I Ching, the coins can be any kind, although silver ones from the year of your birth would be good if you are old enough for the year of your birth to be in silver. Perhaps a parent or grandparent's birth, it's been so long since our coins were silver . . . sigh . . .

P.S. Gold coins from the year of your birth would also serve, if you have that kind of money. The fact that copper ones would also serve goes without saying, I suppose. It's all in how much magic you want to put into them. Otherwise uncirculated pennies from the year of your birth might work very well.

If you have the Internet, which you obviously do, you can get almost any book ever from Amazon. They will probably even offer and edition with Chinese coins, which are cool looking because they have square holes in the middle and you can make a hippie necklace with them.
Congratulations on a first step toward expanding your consciousness and finding out that someone else has already considered every single situation that you could ever experience, thousands of years ago.

Why bother buying a book and trying to learn how to throw coins? The only reason ancient Chinese sages did it was because they didn't have the internet. We do, so we can be lazy and cheap. You can do your own online I Ching reading for free here:
