I wonder whether infinity has a lot to do with eternity!!
Infinity is limitless in dimension ....... such a thing can not change..... and hence may well be limitless in the time dimension as well, which is what eternity is.
If any finite addition or subtraction from infinity keeps it unchanged as infinity, as the mathematical concept envisages, it looks philosophically speaking impossible that it can be limited in terms of time. Time and space are relative or connected, as Einstein had theorised.
What do you say?

Though both the terms are hypothetical they can be explained.
Lets see it in the mathematical context
If simply illustrated,
1/0=INFINITY(the answer is ETERNAL, it would never end )
1, 2, 3, 4.......=ETERNITY(the answer is a series of numbers which will go on and on for eternity, it has INFINITE numbers, so the answer is also INFINITY ).......(so in mathematics eternity is often measured and referred as infinity)
So you see even in mathematics
INFINITY IS ETERNITY
and
ETERNITY IS INFINITY
But whoa!!! in the philosophical context,
It looks a little tricky, but lets try to unfold it,there are so many connotations we will list a few below:
infinity is space, eternity is time
infinity is multidimensional, eternity is unidirectional or viceversa
infinity is magnitude, eternity is time
What do you think is eternity?, something going on for ever, something that never stops is eternity.
And what do you think is infinity ?something which related to magnitude never -ending, so to measure or estimate the actual magnitude it wud take eternity.something that you cant measure
So you see infinity goes on for eternity, but eternity has to have infinity, if it doesn't it is not eternity. And infinity cannot be measured in all context without eternity.
And thus i think that infinity and eternity coexist and not in singularity, THE ONE IS INCOMPLETELY DESCRIBED IF NOT USED WITH THE HELP OF THE OTHER
THOUGH ETERNITY AND INFINITY ARE DIFFERENT, THEY ARE SAME................
Also one more thing i wud like to add is that it is true that GOD IS ETERNITY, GOD IS INFINITY AND WE HUMANS ARE A PART OF GOD AND SO IF U WANT TO KNOW ABOUT GOD, INFINITY OR ETERNITY JUST CONNECT TO THAT PART OF YOU WHICH IS ETERNAL, YOUR SOUL AND YOU'LL GET THE ANSWER, THIS ALSO PROVES THAT THE HUMAN SOUL IS ETERNAL, INFINITE COZ ITS A PART OF ETERNITY...................

My view is that infinity is a mathematical/time/space concept that has no limit. Eternity is also a time/space concept with the added dimension of an entity (location or God granting this eternity) associated with it, thus the religious explantion/overtone. In other words, without God, there would be no eternity.
It seems infinity is a more abstracted than eternity, since infinity attaches no entities or location or a more concept concept to it.
The question alot of reader may pose is, "Does eternity exist?" Whereas with infinity, it it a given reality that's more logically digestable.

You have picked the two questions that man with his large brain can never comprehend! to travel through infinity for all eternity! Don't they seem kinda joined to you? We know that one is time and the other is distance, but read it again! They still seem joined, don't they? The human brain is incapable of comprehending Infinity and Eternity! Period! Have a good day!

Not entirely. Eternity is infinite, but infinity is not necessarily eternal. 8 This design is infinite since there is no beginning nor end, but it does not mean it will survive for eternity.
What do you think?

Infinity is a measure of substance, eternity of time. Ergo, the two are not related.

This two word are almost synonymous, When a person says that I can go on for eternity, that person is also saying infinity. Like the numbers written out for Pi 3,14------ can go on into infinity or eternity................................ I guess what it all boils down to is how you wish to use each word in what you are expressing............

Infinite is immeasurable with pretty much anything. Eternity is directly in reference to time.

it is not true, everything is relative... in this case, it is easy to see that eternity is an infinite amount of time, but sometimes relativity will be more subtle.
