You really feel happier when u have a bit of extra money, than when someone tells you they love you? id find that quite unpleasant! im always strapped for cash, but i dont mind, i have a great girlfriend! she makes me happier than money EVER could!
Money will never make you as happy as love, but i do see what you mean.

Lots of rich people are miserable. Having money doesn't guarantee happiness, but it can make life easier, especially if you don't have to worry about paying bills. If you don't often have extra money, getting it might offer opportunities to do things you can't do otherwise and that can surely raise your level of happiness, depending on how you spend it. If you have wealth and the luxury that comes with it, you might find yourself examining other areas of your life, such as, relationships, purpose, creative expression. Then you might discover you haven't lived up to your potential or that you're feeling unsatisfied at a deeper level.

Money doesn't buy happiness, but it's easier to be happy with it than without it. I've been rich and I've been poor and rich is better. I've also been unhappy in both situations, at times.

Becasue money doesnt make you happy of course.

Are you happy if you have money but no friends, no family, no boyfriend, no job, no house, no love, no-one to care for, no future eg you are in a coma or in jail and everyone thinks you are a t***r ?

I think its because money gives you the choices that you wouldn't have if you were skint.
Money cant buy happiness its what surrounds us that makes us happy IE Friends family and having the freedom to choose what we want to do!

Sorry to say but you must be a materialistic person...I think you based your happiness through things you acquire..the question is how happy are you? Do you get satisfied of the things you've got? How long does your happiness last? or you just want more and more because you never get the satisfaction or happiness you've been looking for..

Money gives you additional options and choices in life, and everyone likes to feel that they have some control over what they do. Also, people with money get more respect from others. It may be shallow, but that's the way reality works.
